If it's the first time you've tried to take the inner cannister/filter out or you've had the vaccuum cleaner a while they can be quite stiff but it will come off.
Firstly, check where the cannister meets the inside of the outer body of the cleaner for a small plastic clip. It's about 2cm -3cm in size and attached to the main housing with a small plastic rivet so as to pivot or swivel. It may also have a slightly raised edge allowing you to push & swivel it about 90 degrees so it no longer covers the lip of the inner cannister. Now firmly hold the inner part and turn it anti-clockwise. It doesn't move far, a couple of inches at most but you should hear it click as the lugs turn to where their are gaps in the housing to allow the two pieces to come apart.
If it's the model I'm thinking of which was our last model, (I'm going on it being purple and the fact you mentioned the inner cyclone chambers) then it should come apart. I would also make a small line with a marker pen to help line them up for putting back together. They look as if the lugs slot back in anywhere but they only go one way and a line will help as a guide. Hope this helps.
Hi there,
I am sorry to hear your canister is not fitting properly. You may want to separate your cyclone assembly (the top purple portion of your canister) from the
clear bin and reattach the components to ensure they are fitted together properly.
To do this, open the bottom of the clear bin, as if you were
emptying it. Please be sure the bin is positioned over a trash receptacle in the event there is debris in the bin. Once the bottom of the bin is open please look at the back of your canister. Below the purple top of the canister and to the left of the debris
inlet is a clear plastic loop that you can slip your index finger through. Just
above this loop is a gray release catch . Using your thumb, press down on the
gray release mechanism. At this point you should be able to gently pull the
clear bin away from the cyclone assembly. After separating the pieces, briefly
inspect them to confirm they are not damaged. If there is no obvious damage,
close the base of the clear bin and place the bin on a hard flat surface. Next,
carefully lower the cyclone assembly onto the clear bin. It may be helpful to
use the red plastic piece on the back of your cyclone assembly and clear bin to
line the pieces up correctly. You will hear a slight click once the pieces have
been successfully reattached.
Please attempt to return the canister to the
machine. If you are still not able to attach the canister successfully, please
call us so we can provide further assistance. We can be reached at 1-866-693-9766 (US), 0800 298

Best wishes,
