The connections are mounted in an odd way. Instead of being in a position where they face you they are mounted in an "overhead" manner. Need manual to figure out what's going on.

SOURCE: RS120 Can still hear TV when headphones are on

Ok.. first.. the simple thing is to go into your television menu and turn the television speaker OFF.
Then exit the menu and turn the volume up.. try your headphones now.

Next.. check the back of the TV for a FIXED AUDIO OUT.. plut your headphones into these outputs.. if you have these.. you can simply turn the set down.. and use the volume control on the headphones.

SOURCE: I have a 42 inch sanyo tv I am trying to hook up

Extra speakers without having the external speaker jacks in the rear is definitely a NO NO. The surround sound is used by connecting the RCA jacks from the TV that say Audio Out to the surround sound audio input on the receiver.. The RCA cables are cheap, you can get them at Home Depot ect....

SOURCE: wireless headphone hook up

Hello depends on how you hook it up as thee are several ways.

many receivers will output sound through the headphone jacks even when the speakers are left on.(my receivers require that you manually turn speaker A off when using headphones)

it may be possible for you to connect the headphones to a tape output but this will require headphones that have a volume control on them or an external.volume control knob.. You may encounter a problem as I am not sure if a tape output will provide enough signal to drive a pair of headphones. this would not be a problem if you use a pair of WIRELESS headphones as they have their own power source onboard..

A set of wireless headphones could also easily be connected to the output on the back of the TV but assuming you have your receiver plugged in to the TV audio out you may need a couple of Y adapter cables.

Also if your receiver has a pair of PRE OUT jacks those would work to power a set of wireless headphones may also power a wired set but once again not sure on power as I have never needed to try it.

Hope that helps a bit

SOURCE: headphones on my dynex 42-inch tv the speakers are still on

Use the MUTE button on the remote to mute your TV speakers and then you can still use our headphones. You can continue to adjust volume with the remote and it will only affect your headphones. You may need to do this each time you turn on the TV and use headphones, but that is a small annoyance.

SOURCE: just bought the brookstone wireless tv headphones.

I had the same problem with Brookstone wireless headset the only solution I found was plug in the red and white connectors to your cable box it works perfectly that way. Just make sure the red cable connector from the transmitter is connected to right red input connector on the box. I have a Comcast cable box. Now I need a solution for them on my PS3?

Sylvania wireless headphones

Instructions
1
Set up the transmitter. Wireless headphones rely on a transmitter that sends audio via infrared or radio waves to your headset. Use the digital audio output (coaxial or optical), RCA outputs (red and white) or headphone jack on your TV to connect the transmitter. The connection will depend upon which outputs are available on your TV and/or the transmitter.
2
Use an RCA-to-headphone adapter. If you don't have a headphone jack on your TV and the transmitter includes only a headphone connection, connect an RCA-to-female headphone connector. This will allow you to plug the wireless transmitter into the female headphone end and then hook the RCA ends into your television's audio outputs. You may also need a 3.5 mm (mini jack)-to-1/4-inch adapter if the headphone plug on the transmitter doesn't match the television jack.

3
Set the transmitter on top of, or next to, the television. For infrared transmitters, you'll need a direct path between the headphones and the transmitter. Placing the transmitter on or near the TV will allow you to take advantage of the clear path you already have.
4
Plug in the transmitter and turn it on. Charge the headphones if necessary.
5
Turn on the headphones. Adjust the volume and settings and you're ready to watch TV.

How to hook up a sound system

Go to Radio Shack. Find the phono adapter and cable section of the store. The adapter you want has a one eighth inch male plug on one end, and a set of female phono plugs on the other. Insert the male end of the adapter into the stereo headphone jack on the side of your television. Run a set of phono cables from the adapter to your receiver. Turn the volume of your television up to the maximum (100.) You should be able to switch between the different surround settings in your menu.
