It sounds like you blew the thermal fuse when the drier overheated. It should be mounted on the exhaust duct inside the back panel. The fuse is about an inch long. If the fuse is blown it will not have any continuity, so it can easily be checked with an ohm meter. If the fuse is bad, it will have to be replaced. Hope this helped. Good luck.

I cleaned the vent but it still takes to long to dry

if it is heating well, then you have a ventilation problem, make sure lint trap is clean if so disconnect dryer vent hose from dryer turn dryer back on put your hand where vent is make sure good hot air is comming out if so dry a load of clothes without vent tube connected, they should dry in a normal amount of time ,if so then your dryer hose is either bent too much or collasped,if hose looks good then it will be vent leadinding outside you can take a leaf blower and put in vent and blow it out, your dryer either vents on the side of the house or the roof turn dryer on put your hand on exterior vent make sure air is coming through

Dryer gets hot and partially burns clothing before completing cycle

Sounds like thermostat is not opening when proper temp is reached. Should be mounted near the heater.

I have a whirlpool dryer it heats and tumbles but its taking forever to dry

hi,

feel how hot the body of the dryer is mid cycle.
it should just be barely warm. if your laundry room has a door leave it open or cut a 1 by 1 foot hole in the door and put a grate on it.
most likely the outlet is clogged. take off the hose, pull it away fro the wall some, and let it run awhile unhooked from the vent, you should have substantial air output when its undone, (like a hair dryer). if its still hot with the hose undone its clogged on the inside and your going to have to take it apart and clean it all out. its not that hard to disassemble and clean, it takes about an hour. study it. dont run it untill its fixed. make sure you unplug it before you take it apart of course..

My dryer heats up but clothes take 2 hrs to dry can you help me? I have a whirlpool supreme

Is your dryer electric or gas? Is it getting hot? Please check to see if your lint vent and hose is not clogged with lint. It has to be blowing good. Any restriction will cause the problem you are having. Lint will build up in the hose/venting and will become a fire hazard also. If your vent hose is blowing good then your drum isn't turning. A new drum belt is then required. If your drum is turning and it isn't getting hot you need a new element or a igniter switch depending if it's gas or electric. Hope I helped.

Major Lint Problem! - LGR8648 Dryer

The vent hose and probably all the way back into the dryer needs to be cleaned, it's all backing up into the dryer. Clean the lint filter well too.

Dryer not venting properly

Unplug the dryer.
Raise the top lid.
Remove the front panel.
Inspect the blower wheel attached to the motor.
It is probably turning on the shaft.
If so, replace the blower wheel.

If not, dig the lint out of the vent between the wheel and the rear of the dryer.

My Kenmore Mod 110.68722700 clothes dryer stops drying the clothes if run too long. The lights are on but it appears to power off. Any help please?

Let it cool down completely. Disconnect the vent from the back and turn on the dryer. See if there is proper air flow. Try running a load with the vent hose off. If it works now the vent hose is clogged.
