Question about LG Xenon GR500 Cell Phone

When I flip the phone, the screen stays on the vertical view

When I flip the phone open, the screen remains in the vertical view, as if I would have never flipped it open. This is the third replacement I've had in less than a month, so I'm pretty sure its not something I'm doing wrong. The keyboard remains unresponsive until the screen decides to flip (if it ever does).

My daughters phone had the same problem. It turned out that my very magnetic purse (which I had put her phone in) messed it up. I took the phone and reran it over the battery vertically and horizontally and it started to work instantly. I guess the phones are very sensitive to magnets (purses, money clips, phone cases/holster holders) so be careful. Hope this helps!!!

Trouble viewing my screen

Every time I flip open my phone to use it or answer a call the screen stays black just like it does not realize that I flipped it open. In order to use my phone I have to push the buttons near the top of the phone by the menu button repeatedly to get the phone to realize that it has been flipped open, also my charger port is acting funny too I plug in my cable to charge it and it does not realize that a cable has been plugged in. I have to literally bend the cable around different ways for the phone to realize that it is plugged in to the charger... Please help!!!!!!!

When I open the keypad to use the keyboard, the phone screen stays in the vertical position rather than flipping to the horizontal position. what to do??

The flex cable of your phone between the keyboard and screen may be disconnected or needs to be replaced, which enables the screen flips when the keyboard is brought up. The best step here is to take it to the LG repair shop and get it mended. Though you can it is difficult to repair it yourself, you can use appropriate screwdrivers for the screws of the phone, find the flex cable and fix it. Close the phone just the way you opened it.

When you flip phone open inside screen stays white

Moto RAZR phones are notorious for this. Best thing to do - Get a new phone. Inside of the hinge, there is a sensor that detects if the phone is open or shut. When you open the phone, it still thinks its closed, so the screen stays white, and if im correct the outside display should still work. Pretty much not-fixable unless you know someone who can take it apart and re-position the sensor (will void the warranty)

Best thing to do....Upgrade.
