Question about Toymax Ativa ATMP410 MP3 Player

Ativa/PerceptionDigital mp3 player needs firmware recovery

Ossulitg, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I can't find the installation disk, however, and I can't find anywhere on the Perception Digital website to download it. Got a suggestion? Or is there a way to post a link to it?

Thanks!

I lost my installation disk as well but I found, thru the manual, that the Ativa player plays videos in SMV format. so try to find a converter for that online.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My player display this message main load image failed switch to recovery mode

Make sure the player is off
Push the hold switch towards the headphone jack so you see orange
Press and hold record on the left of the player
With record still being held down, plug into the computer
Once you see welcome to recovery mode on the screen of the player, let go of record
At this point you can reload the manual firmware..

Install the firmware updater from the install CD that came with the player. Plug the player into the PC. Run the updater and tick the format box. Go ahead and update the firmware, regardless of which firmware you have already. Hopefully this will fix it. Your player is made by Perception Digital. The original manual is here http://www.perceptiondigital.com/client/downloads.php?product_id=117&prod_type=3

My 4G Ativa MP3 player does not work at all and I have only had it since Christmas. I have been unabe to find information online about the warranty specifications. Can you please tell me how to find the...

MAY be a fix. Had a similar problem with mine. Your player is made by Perception Digital and is
model PD-6050. The link to the manual is here http://www.perceptiondigital.com/client/downloads.php?product_id=117&prod_type=3
From this, I found the reset procedure and the recovery procedure, which are not in the Ativa manual.
Try updating the firmware if the player is recognised by the computer. The firmware utility is on the CD that came with the player. When you update, make sure you check the format box. The update may be the same version as you have, doesn't matter, do it anyway.

Note: Interrupting power or pulling out the USB during firmware update will ruin the player, so don't do that ;-)

Mp3 zen not recognised by firmware

I think I can help.  I had a similar issue where the recovery tool would recognize my mp3 but the firmware would not.  This is what I did:    Turn on your Zen, Holding the power switch in the on position. While holding the Power switch on (very important), Reset the Zen by inserting a small object in the Reset hole on the bottom of the Zen (I used an earring). You will see a menu: Clean Up, Format, Reload OS/Firmware, Reboot. I decided to go down the list until something worked.  I ran Clean Up first and that didn't work for me, so I tried Format.  Note that this will remove all of your data.
Once Format runs, Reboot the MP3 player and plug it up to the computer. Run MP3 Recovery Tool. At this point, the firmware recognized my MP3 and installed successfully. Once installed, my computer recognized my Zen.
