I want to repair the power board in my panasonic plasma tv. This part is not available as a new part and limited options for used.

Troubleshooting has revealed a shorted noae6kk00005 power board. With limited options, I would like to repair this board. Is there a schematic available to help narrow down which component may be faulty?

They do not publish the board diagrams as they are not repaired generally but replaced.

Plasma Panasonic TV stopped working

Lightning-damaged electronics are a gamble to repair. Sometimes the problem is a single component, but more often multiple components are damaged, and even if you get it working, something else may die shortly thereafter. If you are lucky, only one board was damaged. My recommendation, if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance, is to put in a claim for the TV and get it replaced.

Having put forth that caveat, the blinking red LED hints that you may have enough left of the set for it to be repairable, especially given that much of a plasma set is already built to cope with high voltages. Try downloading a service manual and following the troubleshooting procedure. Here's the link (it's a Hungarian site, but there's enough English available to find things):

Try the following troubleshooting steps.Check power cord and power outlet, possible light switch problem.
Check if you TV savy check the P board if the P board is not good check the fuses on the P board.
If the P board is OK check the A board.
To check these Unplug the TV , Disconect A5 A6 and A7 on the A board and plug the TV in and see if you get a white screen if this is the case your P board should be OK.

Have no electronics training but want to repair my panasonic TH42PZ77U plasma TV. the power light blinks 7times, from the message boards, i need to replace the sc board & do firmware update- Is this...

No training? Please stay out of the innards of a TV!
That's why they have the warning sticker on the back generally saying "No User serviceable parts inside" or similar wording.
Repair shops have the right jigs or frames to assist opening these products quickly and are forewarned and forearmed with the specific servicing instructions. (Used to be a pile of books but now info. is usually online available to registered membership - business credentials required to register - websites for service companies.
If not recently purchased always balance the repair charge quote you'll get with the replace with new option but with this type of product I'd say if it's over 7 years old.

10 blinks for this tv is not always an A Board issue. It can be a problem with the power board as well. A technician should look at the set to dertermine where the problem lies otherwise it is just a guessing game of inni minni miny moe.

Have a problem with my 42 plasma, has sound and picture, but picture is distorted/fuzzy. its out of warranty, but was wondering if its worth fixing/changing boards?

To determine what is causing our TV to lose it's picture you would have to do some basic troubleshooting. The areas of concern for that particular model with that issue would be the Power Board, the connectors to the board, fuses on the Y & Z Boards, and so on. Once you have run the tests to determine the parts that need to be replaced you would need to find out the availability of those parts in the area that you are from. The TV is of the age that the cost of repairing it may actually be more than the cost of purchasing a brand new set. Due to downturns in the economy sales of plasma, LCD, and led TV's is much slower than anticipated. This has brought the cost of the new units dramatically.

In closing, do your troubleshooting to identify the parts that need replacing and check their cost and availability. Compare to the local cost of a new TV and that should help you to decide which way to go.

PANASONIC TH42PHD88K PLASMA DISPLAY POWER ON PROBLEM

Sounds like a service code for the tv technician. Your tv has busted and now needs repair. Typical of these new tv's, especially plasmas. Your'e in luck with the Panasonic brand though. They have a large supply of parts available and will usually have a new power supply, power control board or circuit board available. Any off brand, U would have had to just throw the tv away.
