Dvd will not record

I put a new dvd in the player and an error message pops up saying "overlap". What does that mean and how do I fix it?

MAGNAVOX DVD RECORDER MODEL # MWR10D6: Is a piece of junk. Yet another worthless waste material and rescources. In other words they or someone else could have taken the materials and energy used to assymble this thing and used it for some other appliance or device that would actually work. This thing is so worthless that it was environmentally irresponsible for the manufactures to even make it. Now all it's good for is filling landfills.

My suggestion is to do as I am right now and go onto any and every forum, or message board you know about and warn as many people as you can away from this piece of junk and the SCAM that is being perpatrated by Magnavox and whoever else helped them cook up this scam.

I've even made space for a photo of it and description of how sorry it works on both my myspace.com and facebook.com pages.

Logik recorder - error message - cannot schedule recording, there is already a timer at the same time on this channel. turned the box off at the wall & retuned. Any suggestions? Thank you. x

check programmed recordings you will have a clash possibly in time and date on another channel. If the dvd records two channels at once normally check if it has two channels already set up at the same time to record i the scheduled recordings.
you may have two different channel positions that are the same tv station and have set up two different channels to record the same show. and then you may be trying to record another different channel at the same time. check and delete extra channel schedule.

Another way to have this is as an example say programmed record at channel nine f0r show 1 at 7:30 to 8.35 day xyz and then you set up show 2 to record at channel nine say from 8:30 to 9.35.day xyz this will use two time frames during the overlap from 8:30 to 8:35 on day xyz and if you decide to record a third show you can't between the overlap time frame

Record errors

If your dvd player only supports dvd+r discs then that is the only way it will record. It will only record once onto the dvd-rw and, since it doesn't support the re-writables, it won't be able to use this function. This is the most likely reason for the first error. The second problem is a little confusing. Is it when you are trying to record on dvd-rs or dvd-rws that it says it can't record? I hope this post was helpful (for the first error, anyway). Good luck! I hope everything works out! Sincerely, Der Strom

This program is not recordable in +vr mode, this is the error message, i am trying to put my programs that are saved on my comcast dvr onto disc, the manual says these are "copy-once" programs, what does...

This means exactly that these are copy Once only, meaning you can not make it copy say 10 copies, at the same time, it means you must do one a at a time. If you wanted say 10 copies, you must do the entire process over and over.

Unknown disk, please check disk again.

did you finalize your dvd? also, the following describes the answer to alot of dvd error problems.

i did everyting today to fix this. bought new dvds, name brands different, tried finding codes, called the number. trust me. try this. clean it. thats All i did. cleaned it with a dvd cd cleaning disc, the one with two little brushes on it, nothing special, ran it until i heard the beep, popped my dvd in, they all worked. everyone, im still recording. i ran it about four times. now, if you tried to burn a dvd, and got the error, throw that dvd away. because i tried about ten dvds. after i fixed it, THOSE dvds were no longer usable. dont know why. hope this works.

Dvd do not record

The unit is saying that its an "Un-format disc" problem. Is this the only error code you are getting? Also, what types of DVDs are being used? As in, DVD-R DVD-RW DVD+R DVD-RW and what speeds? 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x?

Problem recording from vcr to dvd

Howdy,
Same thing, try upluging it for "2 hours", to reset...try 5 minutes first, sometimes that works. And make sure it is not on progressive scanning when trying to record or copy. Good luck, they only last about 6 months in my experience.
