Re: Region problem

To set the DNV-310/210 to Region 0 (Region Free), on the IR remote press:

0 - this is where you input the region code.

Denon 1611 region free hack

Question is, does in state from the manufacture that it is in fact, Region Free? If its not, you won't be able to play it. In your question above, you say "hack", which means that someone outside of Denon, has rewritten the firmware, for which there you are gambling that the DVD may not ever play again, without some serious repairs. If you would like more assistance, please contact me at my website, Thank you.

Getting a Disc Error when trying to play a Chinese DVD

For starters, the Chinese have a totally different set of coding than most anyone else. So you would most likely actually have to buy a dvd player out of China to read it. Otherwise, get teh right codec's for your computer to play it on a dvd rom drive for the computer. Im sorry that this may not be what you are looking for, but ive learned from buying a lot of foreign movies, that you most often have to buy the playing equipment also from the country to play it.

DVDs in PAL format

Hey LauraJPL,

Because PAL-format and Region 2 DVD's are primarily used in Europe, they generally will not be sold through Best Buy™ stores located within the United States or Canada. While U.S. and Canadian stores may sell some multi-region or region-free DVD's, the vast majority of the titles offered will be Region 1 NTSC-format discs.

Hope this helps you out.
