i have a cb radio that i want to use in my house but its for a car so i need to know what i should use as a power supply also what type of antenna will i get the best reception with for this setup? thanks a million and and a half. -chris. ps. do any of you know anything about turntables?

hi,

you need a 13.8v Regulated Power Supply capable of producing at least, minimum of 6A

higher is better.


if you need an antenna you can use dipole at a start, long wire will do, tie 2 wires with 9 ft in length,

2inches spacing, RG 58 , with PL 259 connector, you can tie it diagonally. positive or inner cable conductor is on top.


whatever antenna you will be using the important thing is the SWR ratio.

if you don't have one , you can borrow from one of your friends.

A good SWR is 1.5 lower is better.


if you can get on air , you can also ask good buddies to assist you in installing your antenna.

12 volts, around 15 amps. For a base station, try an Antron-99 groundplane antenna.
