I have the same problem. It occurs even if I'm not zoomed in at all. And I'm even on auto focus with good lighting. It is not on macro mode. All settings are normal as far as I can tell. I've had the camera for a year, and this just became an issue 2 months ago. Not sure what's changed.

My husband just discovered that it has to do with the flash setting. When the auto-flash and flash-on modes are on, it doesn't do it. When the "SL" mode is on - I get the Vibration Warning.

Are you zoomed in all the way, or on macro mode perhaps? One thing I've noticed on camera with a "vibration" function is they tend to have a lot of blur and/or warnings if you are zoomed in all the way. Try standing a little closer and using a smaller amount of zoom and see if that helps, or see if you can try to stabilize yourself a little better when you snap the photo.

I've had the same issue recently. Even when using a tripod, resting the camera on a table, doing whatever I can to keep it stabilized. Even when it isn't zoomed, flash/no flash, the only way it's in focus is when I'm far away from the subject. This is a problem when I need to take an up close photo. It's probably a design flaw, and there is no solution to it.

When I push the shutter button down, it takes 3 to 4 seconds before the shutter opens to snap the picture. What's with that ?

You need to press the shutter button half-way and allow the camera to lock in the focus before pressing the rest of the way.

Replace Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 shutter button

Don't throw your Sony Cyber-Shot camera away!

We found a website who has created an entire comprehensive photo instructions for the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H Series Shutter Button Installation.

They also have the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H9 Shutter Button Installation Instructions as well!

Please note that we STRONGLY recommend using a flash discharger. This is for your safety and also for your camera's safety.

Hope this helps to get your camera working and start capturing memories again!

Sony Cyber-shot DSC- W55 takes blurry pictures

Hi!
The focus doesn't move as it should - it was stuck before you tapped it. Could be sand or something in it. I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair. You can contact your local Sony service center, but if they ask too much, I can offer you a very good price. My e-mail is toms.safranovs@gmail.com
I work in a Sony service center.

Hope this helps!

Your quality setting is probably set to the E-Mail quality. This makes the video low quality and tiny.

Just press the button that you use to delete pictures with the regular screen on and change the image quality.
