If you have a Windows Vista operating system, try this:
Try a system restore from safe mode or from the repair option VistaDVD. Other then that only solution I have is a workaround. See if youcan access safe mode F8 at the boot screen, select "safe mode withcommand prompt" at the prompt type:- Code: C:windowswinsxspending.xml C:windowswinsxspending.old.xml
C:windowswinsxscleanup.xml -> C:windowswinsxscleanup.old.xmlPress enter after each command, reboot you will still see the config updates however it will quickly dissapear and Windowswill boot normally. I would contact MS about this, for a permanent fix.If no safe mode boot with your vista dvd go past the language setup andselect the repair option Now select command prompt (BTW at the "xsources prompt type C: press enter brings you to C:/>) now run thetwo above commands.

If you find this works you may be able to permanently remove the"Update" go to C:windows software distribution and right click select"delete" windows will recreate a fresh folder at boot.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How to uninstall windows to earler version

This requires having a previous disk for windows. You will also have to reformat yourhard drive as to installing an older version on top of a new one will cause problems when booting and the operation of many programs. First you will want to enter bios.
To enter bios you will need to restart unit and continuously press F12 before the windows logo shows. May take a few tries,
Once in bios the mouse is not usable so use arrows and F keys. select boot options make cd/dvd the first selection. Put disk in before you save and exit. nothing will happen but if you don't do it as soon as you turn your unit on you will have keep trying.
press ESC I think it is to save and exit.
Pc will automatically restart. Pay attention it will ask you to hit any key to boot from disk. this will enter the setup section where you will need to delete your drive and reformat. This can take awhile. Once it is done it will return to that previous selection screen asking what you want to do make your selection sit back grab a smoke coffee pizza what have you and relax for awhile but keep an eye n it , it will ask a question or 2. Unit may also shut down and restart a few times on it's own just let it. don't hit anything when it restarts asking if you want to boot from disk, Doing so will start everything all over.
Your going to go through a lot of auto-restarts and a few questions as it near beung usable. It will ask if you have internet and all the fun stuff as to when you first turned on a new pc.

When you are able to log onto windows desktop and online only install updates do not install any third party programs Not even your ant-virus. You want all windows updates before anything. I hope you have at least 2 days about 3 if you are going back to XP. Cp you have to manually search and download updates since the provided update program is no usable. Have fun. Windows Xp updates will be hit and miss until it can update the auto update program but needs various other ones first.

Pc keep rebooting at windows screen when turned on

Did you install any hardware or windows updates? The reason its restarting is its getting a blue screen error but its setup to restart on error so its happening so fast you dont get to see the error..... Try hitting F8 right after the boot screen to get some windows options and try to enter into safemode.... If you can odds are its related to a windows update or something newly installed

E640 REBOOT

Hi John,

I see you mentioned you update IE9 then you now get a blank screen...

If I may ask the blank screen showed up after the update or did it show up after restarting the computer?

If your getting a Blank screen when you boot into windows after the IE9 update, try rebooting then boot into Safemode.

Restart you computer then as soon as you see the Boot screen of you computer keep on Tapping f8 to get a list select safemode, then once it boots into safemode windows will load up in safemode on the issue and you can navigate arround to fix things that went wrong.

click on the Start Button on the lower left of the task bar then, click on Programs, select accessories then select system tools, look for system restore then select the option select a different restore point, on the window you may see a list of restore points hoping your system restore was turned on in the very beginning, once you have selected a restore point keep on clicking next then a warning will show just click next again then it will restart your computer.

System restore allows you to restore to a date where you had windows working fine without any problems so if you can get a restore point before updating IE9 then it is possible that you may be able to fix you windows back the way it was.

I hope that this will help,

There is certain bug in the window vista which uses to make delays in the situation like restart. You just have to do is update your vista through window updates( i.e. Turn on your window updates.) This will removes this patch. Up till the full update of service pack 3 is gain you can just do is remove all temp and prefetch files(type in run : temp; %temp% and prefetch) this will gain some what boost to your vista.

My computor keep stop working when I am in facebook playing the games why

Your question is very general and you may have to show it to a technician to resolve all of your problems.

However, there are a few tasks that you can do without a technician that may suffice.

1. Save all of your open files and close all your programs.
2. Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > WIndows Updates and install all security and critical updates. You may have to restart and repeat the process to get all of the updates. When it says there are no new updates you can move on to the next step.
3. Go to Microsoft's Live OneCare site:
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
4. Select "Full Service Scan" and accept all of the pop-ups and warning to start the scan.

Updates and scans can take hours to complete. Be patient and don't use the computer for anything else when performing these tasks.

If you still have a problem take it to a computer technician. (E.g. Best Buy's Geek Squad.)

Please vote for my solution if it helps.

Keep getting "hprb Update" window on screen. Have changed "hprb Update" on Norton Security from "custm" to "allow", but problem still exists.

Click START-RUN- in the dialog box type: msconfig in the box
when it opens select the "startup" tab - uncheck the box next to the hp update entry - click APPLY and OK...
Restart the computer, it will tell you "you've used the system configurator to change the way windows starts" click ..dont show me this again an then OK.
This will keep the update program from running when windows starts, but you can still run it from your printer software.
