I think L6 means that it is not warming up you will either need a new fuser or control board to be honest I would say beyond economical repair.

thanks J

My copier is not working and I have an ( L ) flashing in the lcd display.

L what? Should be like L1, or L6?
If it is L1 then do a search here. I have a tip posted for solving L1 on Sharp AL series copiers.
In fact here is the link just in case you have an L-1 problem.

If it works for you then please return to this post and give feedback that I was helpful.

Change drum light is on, new drum don't help. Won't copy.

Reset the drum count by pressing "Clear" then "Exposure Mode" then "Clear" then "Exposure Mode"
Exposure mode is far left key on panel. You need to do this fairly quickly so that the display goes blank.
Once display goes blank then key in 24 then press print, then key in 7 then press print. You should now be getting flashing 000
Turn machine off then on and light should be gone.
Short version: C,far left,C,far left,24,print,7,print

Sharp AL-1340 Scanner hangs up, grinding sound, with E-7 code

The scanner rails will dry out. Try a drop of oil on the rod the scanner travels on. There are two bushings that slide along the rod/rail. Good luck.

Random multifeeds and jams.

When it jams I take it that there is two sheets stuck together? If so then the paper tray separation pad will need replacing. To check if the machine it working ok try using the side feed.

Thanks Jason

Sharp -AL1644 flashing L6 error

L6 is a Polygon Motor Lock

You could try to reset the machine with a simulation code 14, which to perform it:
1. Push Clear, Auto, Clear, Auto in a steady rythmic fashion. If done correctly the screen will go blank and all the lights will turn off. If done incorrectly wait 15 seconds then try again. Clear is the red "C" and auto is on the left hand side, the word auto directly above the button.

2. Once you're into this mode enter the number 14 as if you were doing 14 copies then push the green copy key.

If the L6 returns after the reset then you will need service on the machine, Sharp will fix it for a flat rate charge of $140.00 for parts and labor out of warranty. Give them a call 1800 237 4277 in this case.
