Question about Air Conditioners
I'm hoping one of your experts can help me ...
I have a Rheem gas fired forced air RGAA-1000. I replaced an old manual thermostat with a programmable Ritetemp during the summer. It seemed to woked fine. Now that it is colder and I've switched to heat, I've noticed the fan stays on even when the heat/cool is in the off position on the thermostat. I changed the thermostate to a Lux, that I like very much.
I've tried a few things I've read on-line thus far:
Adjusting the on/off/limit by moving the switch on the off all the way down then back up until the fan went off. This worked once. Also the first time I only touched the knob the fan went off.
Connected the blue wire to (B). The fan shut off when I lowered the temp, but I did not want to harm anything, so, I changed it back.
Right now I have the wiring as below:
furnace wire (connection on thermostat)
Any ideas for me?
Wiring is ok but should have a yellow wire to y this for your compressor and blue should go to b

On a furnace the fan is controlled by a computer and a sensor ot a oldstyle fan thermostat. Basically it waits till the furnace heats up a little and then turns it on and after it shuts off it will run till the thermostat cools back down may take a few mins. In cool mode the thermostat controls the fan so it shuts down immediatly. This is why the thermostat asks you if its electric or gas heat. Should have a switch somewhere for this.
