Take out the Network Confirguration page from the printer.

Press the setup button.
Go to Network Setup>>>View Network Settings>>Network Configuration page. Press OK to get it printed.
Note down the IP address of the printer.
Then Go to The Printers folder under Control Panel.
Make right click on the printer icon and select Properties or printer properties in case of windows 7.
Go to Ports tab.
Click on Add a Port. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP
Enter the IP address that you have noted down from the Cofiguration Page.
And complete the Add a port wizard.
Then restart the printer.
. If you are using a DSL router, then enter Manual IP to the Printer.
Make sure it is different from the IP of other devices on network.
You must have default gateway, subnet mask information about the network.
To get the details.
Open Command Prompt on your computer from All Programs>>Accessories.

Then note down the IP address, default gateway and subnet mask.
To enter the manual IP to the printer, Press setup button. Go to Network Setup. Select Advance Settings>>>>IP Settings>>>manual IP.

The default gateway must be 192.168.1.1, make sure that first 3 set of numbers are same. like 192.168.1, last 3 should be different from the computer's one.
Enter the same default gateway and same subnet mask
And after adding the manual IP, use ADD a Port option. Restart the printer and then check the status.
To make sure, make a right click on the printer icon and select Use Printer Online.

2Wire Home Portal 1100 for AT&T DSL connection problem

HI! read your posting regarding the situation that your experiencing.. If before you dont have any problem regrding your connection with out the cisco network magic. I suggest that before you install the cisco network magic. you should get the full version not the trial version, there is a limitation of setting up the trial version.. Cisco network magic is a plug and play and easy to setup if you get the full version. I dont see any problem regarding your connection with the 2wire and the linksys router, becoz you mention earlier that hime network is working and you can connect to the network and the internet..

How to set up uverse home network with 2wire gateway

To use AT&T Uverse for a home network, you need to get the AT&T "Homeview" Network Management software. AT&T provided this software in the past freely.

This software must be run on each PC on your home network, and then each PC can see the others. You then use go to My Computer, select each disk drive you want to share, right-click and select Sharing and Security, and select to share the drive. Then go on the drive to the folders you want to share and right-click and set them to be shared. Then the Homeview system will show these are shared folders. You can also share printers on the same network using the Homeview software.

Home Network sharing issues using 2wire wireless modem

Did you manually assign the IP address to your shared devices? If so, the Linksys and the 2wire have different IP schemes.

2wire Gateway IP address:
192.168.1.254
255.255.255.0

Do an ipconfig /all on your computer and compare it to the ip scheme on your devices.

2wire 1701 HG Gateway wireless not working

Hi,

There could be a lot of possibilities why you lost your connections at the same time. Could be windows update or changes had been made in your 2wire 2701 HG.Its impossible to say that your wireless adapters turned bad all at the same time.As what you observed , wireless light is off meaning your 2wire doesnt detect any wireless connection. You can try reconnecting them 1 at a time by going to your wireless connection tool or network connections.

If that didnt help, you can use your PC w/c is connected using the USB connection. Using this step, you 'l have a chance to edit and view your wireless network. For you to access your 2wire you must know what your 2wire address {default gateway}. Using your hardwired pc go to start > run > type in cmd then hit enter > on the Dos command screen type in ipconfig and hit enter> youl see your default gateway . It would look like this 192.168.1.254 for example cos sometimes it would vary depending what ISP you have, Open your fav browser and on your address bar type in your default gateway. That would lead you to your 2wire page, there youl have a chnace to view you home network. Check if your wireless encryption and you network name if everything is still the same. {Best thing is to change your wireless name or SSID. Then try to reconnect on your wireless connection for each computer and make sure you have your wireless encryption.

Hope that helps. Pls let me know asap if you need clarifications.

Cheers.

2wire 1701HG Gateway Router VPN Setup

Go to http://gateway.2wire.net and click on the firewall icon. Click on firewall settings and, if prompted, enter your system password to reach the advanced settings page. select the computer that will function as the VPN server. In the left column, select PPTP server. click on Add, then done. or try changing the IP scheme to the 172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0 or 10.0.0.0/255.255.0.0 schemes by accessing gateway.2wire.net, go to home network icon, then advanced settings. but if you manually configure or disable dhcp, be sure to write down the subnet mask & IP assigned to the 2wire then click on save. if all else fails, run it on DMZPlus mode, however this solution will allow all inbound traffic to the computer. if it still doesn't work on DMZPlus mode, the VPN is either using the same IP scheme, is using IPSec 50 or 51, or will not work with the 2Wire gateway.

Lost Ethernet and Wireless Connections in Modem

I've not used one of these 2wire boxes before, but I believe the default router's address is 192.168.0.1. Try this instead of gateway.2wire.net to see if you can gain access to the router. This is just the starting point, but see if it works.

Here's a link to, what I believe is, the router's manual.

Before you rate this please let me try to help some more. This could be a multi step process...
