Just use one of those jacks. Then turn the frequency select dial all the way up. This will work just as well.

The only thing you do is to open your receivers, then locate the output connector if you see the female RCA jack ,then push it out the broken piece ,that's it

I just bought a subwoofer and I cannot get it to work. I changed the receiver setting to SW = YES. Where is the correct place to plug it in the receiver, there are two subwoofer outlets.

Here's your manual. Check Pg. 9 for correct Sub Woofer connection. Leave the SW=YES setting as is if you any small speakers in the system. It can be set to SW=PLUS if you want all bass signals sent to the Sub Woofer. It should only be set to SW=NO if no Sub Woofer is connected. Experiment between the YES and PLUS settings and leave it where it sounds best to you.

If this was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up" - thanks & good luck!

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

I lost the remote to my Pioneer VSX D607S. I am trying to turn on the Sub-woofer, but the manual only shows how to do that using the remote. Is there a way to turn on the sub-woofer manually?

I dont think so as most of the sub functions are placed now on the remote control with no parallel modes on the customer panel.
The other way around is to trigger the circuit manually in the circuit but this needs care to allow the sub to switch on..

SUB WOOFER

Connect it to the "subwoofer out" plugs on the back of the receiver, red is positive, and black is negative. If no "sub-out" then seperate amp with speaker level inputs and low-pass filter...

Good Luck

Sub woofer

Hello,
The subwoofer is totally independent from your Pioneer VSX-D412. You can check if it works like you did with a finger on the hot point of the RCA cable (not very good test, as you will hear noise and can't say if that means it works OK) or better connect a known receiver to the speaker connections in the sub and test to see if it’s working properly.
Regarding the receiver, you may not have enabled the VSX to output to the sub. Read the manual on how to check for that. Only Dolby Digital 5.1 signals will allow the sub out, in a receiver of this level. It normally will not let you use the sub in stereo mode. Some more complex units will allow you that, but I believe not this model.
Good luck

So subwoofer output on Pioneer VSX-D608

Hey,

I too have had mine in storage for a long time, and have unfortunately lost the manual.

I initially had the same issues as you, it seems that we need to set a DSP mode, then play with the channels and boost the output on the sub woofer channel, if you are lucky enough to still have the remote I just remember like 10 mins ago, pressing the " >> " button up the top takes you through some settings (Can't remember the way to do it without the remote :( ), and one of them is sub woofer on and off.

I hope that gets you in the right direction. :) Still trying to work it out myself.
