Problem for Apple AirPort Extreme Router

Status light is not turning on a brand new airport

Status light is not turning on a brand new airport extreme. Just brought it home from Apple, plugged it in and there is no status light at all. The power outlet is fine. Is it a faulty piece of equipment? Faulty power adapter? Is there a way to test it or should I just bring it back to Apple tomorrow and get a new one?
