Loud bang 10 mins after oven switched on. Went through to find door wide open and glass everywhere from inner glass panel. Safe to use oven? and what caused this. Is it manufacturer fault.
Hi.
Generally speaking it is not a manufacturing fault.
Can be caused by many reasons.
The main reason is because of a cold surface coming into con tract with the inner door glass, for example, wiping the hot glass door with a cold damp cloth, or banging thr door to hard to close it, there are other reasons as well, but to reiterate, it is not a manufacturing fault.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

I want to buy a compact, simple microwave oven for warming up food, with a tray that turns. I prefer the mechanical kind, because it's simpler, but I can handle a digital model. I've seen an AKAI model mw-jn0717mp2 which warms up the food quickly. It seems to be an older model. What is a newer model of AKAI? Or any other brand that has enough wattage to warm up the food quickly and evenly?

We've had this cooker for a few years and it has worked faultlessly up until now. The oven does not have any kind of electronic ignition system and you have to light it manually by turning the oven knob and holding it in whilst holding a lighter or match by the hole on the bottom/front of the oven. Usually 6 seconds or so will do the job. Alas now the oven lights without a problem but no matter how long you hold the knob in as soon as it is released the oven burner goes out. Any advice would be much appreciated as we really don't have the money to replace the cookerand it has been kept in great condition
