Hi i have been having trouble with my notifications, it was working perfect until yesterday..... some guy told me that might be the software, but the thing is that if I go to media and put play ringtone i put the headphones on, i can hear the ringtones and videos and music, but if i go directly to the profiles and change the ringtones there i can not hear them. also i just noticed the normal profile was set to mute...... but i changed and nothing happend..... i already dowload the latest software.... and the took the battery off and rebbost and everythin...... but some other guy from here told me something about enebling intercomunications or something, but i did not understand..... if i can hear with the headphones, i dont think it is a hardware problem..... also the problem appear before i put the headphones for the fisrt time......

Just make sure that it is set to ring when holstered.

I found the answer on the link below:

By the way, have you tried calling someone and used loudspeaker instead of headset? If loudspeaker is working then we can isolate the problem with the profile settings.

Hi,

If it is a problem with speaker on the Bold, remove the back cover off and fiddled with it..... if you press in on the speaker sometimes it works.

Also you can try changing the settings

Try changing this setting to fix this problem: 1. Press Menu > Options.
2. Select Advanced.
3. Select Applications.
4. Select the program that you wish to enable sound for.
5. Press the Menu button.
6. Select Edit Permissions.
7. Set Interactions to Allow.

I am just reminding you, if you are still in warranty period please go and replace it as it is a common problem.

Thanks

The headset plug is probably lose from the board, when you put a headset on the phone it takes out the speaker, so if it becomes lose from the board, you may not get any sound at all, maybe with a headset. You can try and see if the plug moves inside the phone, if it does, thats the problem, its going to need to be resoldered to the board, that may be a very difficult task.

By Blackberry Bold will not ring.

Did you go into the advanced settings for whichever profile you have it on?

If instead of chosing a profile you go to the bottom of the list and choose advanced it allows you to make sure that the individual settings haven't been changed within that profile.

Blackberry bold suddenly shut down

Lots of battery issues with the Bold. Try taking the battery out, keeping it out and connecting to PC with USB. Do any lights come on? Red light should appear. Put battery in while connected to USB.

Another fix that I found for a friend-leave the battery out of the unit for a day-put it in and plug in power cord or USB. It worked.

Blackberry sound not working

Same problem here with a BlackBerry 8830. Elsewhere found a solution for another model that worked for mine:

1) Plug in headset.
2) Turn off BB.
3) Remove phone battery.
4) Reinstall battery and let phone restart.
5) Remove headset.
