I believe a chat window opened up from you to me earlier today. Can you briefly tell me what you have already tried with your receiver? There may be a few more steps we can try to take. Thank you.

I'm trying to run advent as2 speakers with a kenwood vr5900 receiver but they are clipping

You can not do that, it will result in catatrophic failure in the output stage which will prove very costly if you continue.

After driving for about thirty minutes my amp will just cut off, it seems a little hot and then it will turn back on in about 10 minutes. I'm not playing my music loud at all and I have all kenwood...

sounds like your speaker is either the wrong resistance for your amp ie your amp may state 4 ohms and your speaker is 2 ohms which means that the speaker is shorting out the amp and its going into protection mode or the speaker could be burning out and shorting out the amp

What kind speaker use my kenwood powered subwoofer 103SW

It uses a 10 inch, 4 ohm speaker, probably rated at 100 watts. If you are getting no sound, check your connections. Or, the subwoofer amp may be blown.

Kenwood 138 and Performance Teknique 752 speaker problem

Hello passionatete,

It sure sounds like the speakers are bad. When I looked these up, the specifications said they are 5 1/4 inch. You should listen to a few different speakers in the size that you require, to see what ones you like best. I'd first make sure of the exact size. Many 5 1/4" speakers have tabs that allow them to be mounted in 6 1/2" openings. The best way to determine which speakers fit is to use the "outfit my car" feature at www.crutchfield.com. They have speakers starting at around $35 per pair. Another good online site for research and for purchase is www.sonicelectronix.com. Sonicelectronix sells speakers starting as low as about $20 per pair.

Kenwood, JVC, Sony, Blaupunkt, and Orion are all excellent speakers for under $30. There's others like Boss, Scosche, Power Acoustik, and Visonik that cost even less. Again, I'd listen first, and then buy.

Hope this helps.

Kenwood VR-305 receiver surround speakers will not work

make sure that all input cables are in the correct positon also make sure that any inputs you are using don't have a macrovision in them that will also kill your sound due to copyright laws and stuff but main thing check all wires coming in to receiver and if you need more inputs go to walmart and get a rca splitter basicaly its a 1 in two out connection to add more cables in the input

Amp Turns on... then off

unplug all speakers and see if it still into protect .If unit powers up normally without speakers , then hook up a temporary speaker directly to speaker out to see if you have output. If it works .Then check speaker cables and speakers for shorts. Also make sure you have good ground and main power and standy are present.
