If the television gets too hot it will turn off while it's hot or won't turn back on until it cools down. Other wise your timer is probably on.

You most likely have some faulty capacitors on the power module. You can easily identify a bust capacitor. They will have swollen tops. Here is a sample pic:

Check the specifications of the faulty capacitors, and getthe replacements from your local electronics shop. If you are comfortable withthis, you can use a pair of needle nose pliers to G-E-N-T-L-Y pull out thedefunct capacitors. Once that is done, solder in the new capacitors carefully. Ifare unsure how to do this, try to get a friend who knows this kinda stuff to doit for you, or get a qualified technician.
Warning: If you do not have a background inelectronics repair, or are inexperienced, get a qualified technician to do itfor you.

REMEMBER there are very dangerous voltages inside a TVthat can KILL. Be sure to work SAFE when dealing with electricity. DISCONNECTTHE POWER BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.

If you want to go in for a long term solution, youcan easily replace the whole power board. You can get spare from HERE.
They also offer FREE online technical advice as you do the DIY..

Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WS-55908 Rear Projection. Doesen't Stay on.

have you tried to access the self diagnosis feature by holding the menu and device/input buttons on the set both in together for five seconds to see if the led will blink a two digit code such as two blinks pause two blinks for a 22 error? Try that and let me know the blink code and i can assist you.

SOURCE: TV won't turn on.

Do the self check this set has:

when the power light goes off---on the front of the set press and hold both the MENU and INPUT (or Device) buttons for 5 seconds and then release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code--most common is 2 blinks a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat the code several times.

Let me know what the error code is and I will tell you what it means.

2,2 is most common and the most easy to fix.

If this information helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

I have a Mitsubishi VS-50603 that will not turn on.

Good Day, jessayala;
It sounds like you may have Ethylene Glycol on the boards, leakage from the TV's CRT's. The Glycol is a fluid that help's the tube cool. If you are not handy, very, very handy, I would call an Authorized Service Center to come out and give you an estimate before the repair is performed.

Good Luck, big IRISH......PS..... If can handle your self ..... come back here.
