Well the bad news is if you have the 3.5 liter engine, the entire engine assembly needs to be removed in order to change the water pump. If you happen to have the 3.3 liter engine you will need to remove the timing belt in order to get at it. Need to know what your engine size is before I can help any further

Repair a water pump by checking your car for a failure in
the bearings. You can test for bearing failure by seeing if there is any
play in the shaft that is connected to the electrical fan blades, as
well as the drive pulley to the pump itself.

If you notice any free play in the shaft or the pulley, you will need to take the pump apart and replace the bearings.

Determine if the water pump failure is due to a leak in the
casing. Examine the water pump housing for leaking or water stains in
the drainage hole next to the pulley.

If water is dripping from this hole, then the seals inside the pump need to replaced in order to repair the pump.
Remove the Water Pump for Repair

Allow the engine to cool completely before removing any part
of the cooling system. Never open a radiator cap or plug while the
engine is still warm.

Disconnect the car battery. This will prevent the electrical fan from turning on while you are under the hood.

Drain the radiator of all fluid and disconnect the radiator
hoses. Collect the fluid with a plastic container and keep it in a safe
place until you are ready to put it back into the radiator.

Remove the fan assembly. This will include the shroud, the fan and the fan belt. Disconnect the electrical leads for the fan.

Remove the pulley for the fan belt as well in order to have access to the water pump.

Use a socket set to remove the water pump from its engine mount.

Open the housing for the water pump and replace the seals or
bearing as necessary. Some auto parts stores carry repair kits that
have both the seals and bearings for specific types of water pumps.

Reassemble the cooling system by replacing the water pump,
pulley, fan belt, fan assembly and radiator hoses. Refill the radiator
with the fluid.

Start the engine to see if the water pump repair was successful. Check for leaks before you take the car out on the road.

Hi:) Sounds like the water pump needs to be replaced. you need to remove the coolant,belt,fan,water pump bolts and you need a new gasket and water pump and replace in opposite order.
Pretty easy. Just drain antifreeze. Then loosen 4 bolts that holds fan to pulley. Remove plastic fan schroud and fan pulley. Loosen water pump bolts in criss cross pattern and remove water pump. Clean surface install new gasket and water pump install in reverse order. Tighten in staggerd order to keep from breaking and warping. Don't forget to change thermostat good time to replace. Part should be about 50 bucs at your local parts store.
in the upper radiator hose to the engine side of an elbow with 2 screws in there is the thermostat and water pump need to remove the fan belt clucht with the fan off the bottom hose that goes from the radiator to the pump to remove the screws remove the pump the pump clean the surface and install the new pump

To replace water pump : Raise the car
1- Drain cooling system.
2- Remove drive belt tensioner clip (if there is one)
3- Remove accessory drivebelt
* Rotate the belt tensioner counter clock wise , 3/8 inch square drive bar should do it * Remove accessory drive belt
4- Lower the car
5- Remove the upper shield.
6- Remove the throttle body.
7- Detch the coolant hose from housing assembly.
8- Remove the upper radiator mounting bracket
9- Detach the hose assembly from the water pump and lower hose.
10- Remove the hose assembly
* Detach the hose clips
11- Remove intake manifold support bracket
* Detach wiring harness * Remove intake manifold support bracket
12- Detach coolant hose from water pump
13- Remove coolant hose from the water pump to lower housing.
14- Remove water pump
Installation :
in reverse order and make sure to use new gaskets and seals
Depends on which engine if it's the 2,2 engine fairly easy but the 2.4 is a big job Timing Cover & Exhaust Manifold Removal Required. With the 2.2 locate water pump loosen the bolts on the pulley then remove the serpentine belt. Finish removing the pulley bolts now you can get at the water pump bolts. Use a container under the car to catch the antifreeze. Remove the water pump from the engine, installing new pump in reverse order to removal.
1-Remove serpentine fan belt
2-Remove pulley from front of water pump (10mm socket or wrench)
3-remove 6 bolts from water pump assembly (8mm socket or wrench)
4- replace water pump
5- reverse order to reassemble
