Question about Jandy Lite 2 Natural Gas Pilot Light Heater
My heater will not ignite. The pilot is on but when I turn on the switch nothing happens. I just bought the house last year and the previous owner said I had to turn the switch on and off rapidly several times to get it to work. Last year it worked occassionally doing this but this year I have had no luck. Any ideas?
All I can say is check for loose or corroded connections

The gasvalve has a pilot solenoid which is powered by in essence a thermocouple called a thermopile which converts heatfrom the pilot to to a millivolt output which is why you have to hold the pilot valve till it makes electricty. The main gas valve goes through a series of safety switches and through the thermostat so if any switch has a badoropen contact the heater will never fire find the bad part with a continuity tester and replace it.
