Question about HP PSC 2410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

My printer keeps trying to start a scan at start up. The power on green light never becomes a solid green and the hour glass icon is what is on the screen. Makes awful grinding noise. Try reconnecting and restarting computer. It powers off on it's own now.

I am using a Mac OS 10. There is no job waiting. Power button is flashing green and the HP hour glass remains on the display. When I unplug and restart everything. It starts trying to scan about two inches from the right side. Once it gets to the end, it starts making a cranking noise. Computer can't connect to printer either. I want to be able to reset the printer or reboot it but nothing in trouble shooting is working. I have cleaned everything out, installed the drivers again.

If it's the scanner bar "clicking" after start-up thats the problem then see ;

http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/42155

Concensus seems to be that the scanner is trying to find "home" and it can't see it because something is in the way. Combination of cleaning the glass and/or the lighting unit/mirrors may help. Worked for me.

You have a print job stuck in que. Either click on the Printer Icon in your System Tray (by the clock) and select the print Job, then Cancel; or, Go thru your Control Panel and open up the Printer by clicking on the Printer Icon in the Control Panel and select the current Print Job and then Cancel. Not sure if you are using Win-XP, but it sounds like it. I have had this problem before when I have shut down or powered off in Win-XP with an active print job.

S9000 will only print black if set on "high" print quality, then looks more grey than black

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please try to reset the printer by following the steps---

Turn the power off. Now hold down Resume button and press Power button. Keep holding down Power button and let the Resume button go. Press Resume button twice and then let both buttons go. Green light will flash then stop blinking. When Green light is solid, press Resume button 4 times. Now press the power button and the printer should turn off. If not, press the Power button once more.

If still the issue is not resolved, then please follow the procedure to uncheck the grayscale printing---

On the Windows desktop, click 'Start' then click 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes').

For Windows Vista: Click/Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then Click on 'Printers'.

Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.

For Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'.

For Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties' and then on the Main tab, click on the 'Grayscale Printing' check-box to remove the check-mark. Click the 'OK' button to save the settings.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Saeco Italia SUP021 YR green lights and red water light flashing

You can't manually reset. The machine will have to do it. I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. No coffee can be made or hot water. I could not pump prime. The problem was the steam wand was blocked with old milk residue. It needs unblocking or you will never pump prime. I could not unscrew the steam wand...so I let it sink in a glass full of hot water for a few minutes and then turned the water knob counter clockwise to push out the softened residue. After that, everything was good. When water started flowing out of the steam wand, the red light turned off and the green lights turned solid. The obvious answer to why you can't pump prime is there is a blockage somewhere and best to start with the steam wand. --Mabada

Scanning problem

Hi,

the black solid line that you were saying, is that vertical or horizontal? But anyways, i just want you to follow these steps...
Step one: Reset the printer
  1. Unplug the all-in-one USB cable from the computer.
  2. Verify the computer and the all-in-one have a three-prong power cord that connects to the power outlet.
  3. Unplug the all-in-one power cord from any power strips or surge protectors, and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  4. Make a copy or scan, and see if the issue is resolved. If not, proceed to the next step.
Step two: Clean the glass and scanner backing
  1. Turn off the all-in-one.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the all-in-one.
  4. Raise the lid.
  5. Clean the glass with a soft dry cloth, or a sponge slightly moistened with non-abrasive glass cleaner or water.
  6. Dry the glass with a chamois, cellulose sponge or soft cotton cloth to prevent spotting.
  7. Clean the white scanner backing with a soft dry cloth or sponge slightly moistened with water, and allow it to dry.

Step three: Try a blank copy
  1. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  2. Plug the power cord into the all-in-one.
  3. Turn the power on.
  4. Close the lid; do not place any paper on the glass.
  5. Load paper in the paper tray.
  6. Do either of the following:
    • Press Start Copy Black to start a black-and-white copy job.
    • Press Start Copy Color to start a color copy job.
  7. Please let me know if the steps didnt resolve your issue.

Thank you so much...
