First you go to the phone book the press delete button then that number will be delete

Not sure if this is the same phone, but when I enter a number/letter, the "Mute" button serves as a backspace/delete function. So what I did was go to Menu>Directory>Review, scroll to the contact I wanted to delete, and press "Mute", which asks me to confirm to delete the contact. Hope this helps.
