SOURCE: Timing problem
You might have to look at loosening the set screws for the gear on the lower shaft that drives the hook driver gear . Loosen the screws, slide the gears apart, then adjust the hook so it is entering the scarf of the needle on the upstroke. Slide the gears togeather so they mesh again and it should be back in time. There are other factors though such as needle height adjustment which is done with the needle bar and hook and needle clearance (the distance between the needle and hook) which should be about .030. I'm a Bernina tech but many machines work the same principle. Good luck.
SOURCE: Bottom thread will not catch
Unplug the machine and remove the needle plate so that the bobbin case if fully exposed. Lift out the bobbin case and the cup that it sets in will be visible. Locate the "hook" on this cup. It is a finger with a sharp point at the upper edge of the cup. The hook is what grabs the thread from the needle while sewing.
If the hook passes by the needle AFTER the eye of the needle is above it, you timing has slipped and the machine must be taken in for repair.
If the hook catches the thread from the needle, put everything back together and try threading again.
SOURCE: fixing my Brother sewing machine
your problem must be fixed by now but here is timing. If you are mechanical enough to pull covers off and find why the timing is wrong, A stripped gear or belt or a loose lock screw. Retiming: A new needle must go to the bottom and begin to rise. At this point the rotary or oscillating hook tip must pass through the escarpment on the back of the needle just above the eye.. Repeat for left and right hand needle swing on zigzag machines. There should be no space between the needle and the tip of the hook at this point. There may be needleguards to correct or limit this. Be aware the timing slip could just be the needle bar. Usually thst this be rotating the needlebar. If it mooves it will have slipped upward. Lower it according to the above. A n eedle always threads towards the flat on the top. [email protected]

You may have the bobbin case in wrong. I have this machine, and I know that it is really easy to put the bobbin case in wrong. Try taking it out and making sure that the little stop is in the front and it is seated down in there and able to wiggle back and forth. My experience with this machine, until the other day when my cat knocked mine off the table and knocked something out of alignment, is that it just works. Any time mine hasn't worked, it has either been dirty, needing oil, threaded wrong or the bobbin case wasn't seated right. In other words, it has always been my fault.
