    No I haven't. Where is the manual eject hole located?

  • jjs91 Jul 19, 2009

    Wait. My computer doesn't have a disc tray. It's just a slot, so there's no little hole I can put a paperclip in to eject the disc. Any other solutions?

Have you already tried to mannually open the tray, by inserting a thin straight object (like a unbent paper clip) in the manual eject hole on the optical disk drive? The hole exists for that pupose.

    Yes, I have checked , and your model doen't seem to have the manual ejection hole (some slot drives, as all tray drives, have it though).

    If you ghave already tried to:

    - right click the CD/DVD drive icon and select eject;

    - run the hardware diagnostics;

    - complety shut down the computer and restart it again,

    you are out of luck and must have your computer serviced.

    Or -- as I've seen suggested in another site -- you might try to remove de media from your drive, by inserting a credit card or some similiar thin and stiff object in the slot and try to lift and free the CD/DVD from its hub. But, then, it might also harm your drive and, if there is any mechanical problem with your drive it wouldn't solve the problem.

    Good luck!

Cd jammed in a dell pp31l

There are two ways toopen the CD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drivetray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive traypops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CDdisc.
If you continue having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD driveis faulty and needs replacing.

How do I eject cd on dell laptop

you have 3 options:
start menu > computer > your cd drive (right click) > eject
some cd drives have a small whole near the eject button on the cd drive (poke withpaper clip)
or press the button that ejects (on your cd drive)

and obvious how you get it to open before do the same thing if it doesnt work use paper clip :D

Dell studio 1537 slot load dvd drive when cd is iserted there is a clicking and whirring sound and cd is ejected immediately

This is already a mechanical problem on dvd drive. Try upgrading optical dvd drive firmware from Dell's support website. Then, download and install IMG BURN. Run img burn. The software will perform a test. If the problem persists, have your optical dvd drive replaced.

I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

I have a Dell Studio 1537 and my touch screen buttons at the top of my keyboard do not work anymore. When I touch them they still light up, but nothing happens. I even have a CD stuck in the disk player...

There is a cable connection for the hinge cover buttons, you can try to reseat the cable. If that doesn't resolve then the hinge cover will need replacement

As for the disk in the drive, Open MY Computer, right click the drive, Click EJECT
