Camera will not stay on

Battery is fully charged. It turns on, the Kodak software image appears in the viewer, the lens extends out, but then it immediately shuts down. Any suggestions?

Hi.

Start replacing the batteries. Test with fully charged batteries.
If the camera has power, but lens does not extend, ensure you are not in PC mode. If you are not in PC mode.

If the camera does not turn on at all, then it can be a broken contact to battery slot, or a faulty control board. Sometimes the ribbon cable that connects to main board and also to battery is broken or lose.

If the camera is turning on but lens does not extend, then it is usually a lens error.

The best thing to do is calling Kodak at the number listed on the owners manual, pointing out that you did not cause the fault, and that you did not do any improper use of the camera. Ask them a quote on repair.

You an also get a quote from a third party service here: Repair.

Check first the batteries and setting.

My camera will not stay on is off and stuck with lens out

If the lens doesn't retract on most digital camera the camera also will not turn ON. It is connection or wiring between camera power and camera lens.
What Kodak Rep will ask you to do are:
1. Remove the battery and the memory card of the camera
2. Check if your using a recommended battery and if its new or fully charge. batteries for Z1275 are Ni-MH rechargeable; CRV3 Lithium; 2AA Lithium
3. Insert the batteries back in the camera in correctly
4. Set the camera in Auto mode (its the camera icon on the dialing mode of the camera)
5. Try to turn it ON
If still will not turn ON and the lens will not retract
6. If your using a rechargeable battery Kodak Rep will ask you to charge the battery until its fully charge.
If your using a disposable battery they will ask you to try to use a new battery out from the box.
After all those steps still the camera failed to work, it will be send for repair. The number of the Kodak support line is 1 800 235 6325 (23KODAK)

Kdak MX1063 won't stay on...

Try cleaning the contacts from the battery and the battery compartment of the camera. I had the same problem, used a cotton swab to clean and this fixed it, it seems to be a common problem.

You can also try the official Kodak troubleshooter at:

Camera won't stay on

I may be able to help with your Kodak EasyShare Z740 that turns itself off.

It may be a 'lens extending' problem, or it might be fixed with a combination of button presses to reset it while turning it on.

Try these steps to fix your camera.

I hope that helps.
