I have a Sanyo ecd-t1137s stereo system. Even after pressing reset it tends to flash commands like Mute or Equalization. It turns on and off or volume turns up or down on its own, what can be wrong?
I don't know if I need a new stereo, if there are wires that are loose or it may be something else I can't find in the manual. Could it be a dusty face plate connector?
take it to a auto parts store or dealer so they can put on the obd scan machine on, that will give a code and will give you an answer as to what the flashing light means.

The 2015 Nissan Altima does not have a mute button for the Audio system. To unmute the Audio system You will have to turn the volume knob clockwise. If this does not fix the problems with the Audio in the vehicle You can try and attempt a full reset of the radio in Your car. To do this You will turn the ignition key to the "on" position and turn Your radio on, wait ten seconds and then turn Your radio off. Depress the radio power button again and wait for reset. Alternatively, enter Your dealer provided radio code to reset. You can also check to see if You had a call and if You did not press the "call hang up" button on the steering wheel while not on a call it could mute the radio so press it again to un mute it.
Mute function: Check if the mute function on your radio or car stereo is enabled.
Volume control: Make sure the volume on your radio or car stereo is turned up.
Speaker connections: Check that the speaker connections are properly connected and secure.
Fuse: If your radio uses a fuse, check to make sure the fuse is not blown.
Antenna connection: If you have an external antenna, make sure it is properly connected.
Radio station reception: If your radio uses a tuner, check to see if the station you're trying to listen to is in range.
Radio or car stereo malfunction: If the above steps don't solve the issue, the problem may be with your radio or car stereo and it may need to be serviced or replaced.
The mute feature on most car audio systems is a push to activate push to restore sound feature, if they have that option.
If you cannot raise or lower the volume on your radio, check to make sure its powering up...are there lights on the units panel? No lights...no power...check your owners manual for the fuse location to see if it is burned out. If the fuse is good then the stereo is most likely the culprit.
If your vehicle has steering wheel controls for the stereo you may be having software issues but as few details are provided about what type of vehicle we are discussing here..this is all guess work.

Wot year model is it? For 2012 press and hold the "volume" knob, until the display shows "initial volume". Turn the knob anticlockwise slowly until "clock" is displayed .Press the knob again until the "hr" flashes and turn to adjust. Press again and "min" will flash and turn to adjust. Press the "display" button to exit. Hope this will help
I had an alfa. when the security tripped for any reason, since the radio was the "brains" it would stop working also. There was a code that was in the owners manual that you could reset the system with. Who Knows it may work
mute the volume on the stereo system by pushing the volume dial in, waiting a few seconds, then un-muting by pushing the volume dial in once again and you should begin to hear sound again
On some wiring systems you have to make sure the wires are not touching neg. and pos.just try some speakers without actually installing them. make sure mute button is not on.
I have had this stereo in my car since I got it in 2006.
