There should be a drain plug on the underside of the mower deck. Raise that side of deck, remove the plug and drain the oil. Replace the plug and add new oil. Hope this helped.

I bought a new push mower this year.the manual tells you to pull the dip stick out and turn the mower upside down to drain the oil putting the dip stick tube on the low end. I'm not kidding.

Troy, Unless you are using old fuel (it breaks down after 1 week) it sounds like you have a faulty spark plug. Replace this first, drain any old fuel and replace with fresh fuel (premium unleaded). A faulty plug will work one minute but then fail like you have described.

SOURCE: where is the oil change plug

The plug is under the mower on the bottom of the engine. Make sure you take the spark plug wire off before you work, remove the blade (it needs sharpening anyway right?) and then tilt the mower on its side WITH THE CARBURETOR UP. position an aluminum cake tin under the mower so that once you remove the oil plug using a 3/8" ratchet you can set the mower back down over the cake tin and it will catch the oil. Don't forget to put the plug back in =-)

Where is drain plug for oil on Troy bilt Tb230

It does not have a drain plug. You can remove the dip stick and tilt the mower to pour out the oil, or you can use one of those hand pump syphon units to pump it out.

Gas tank leak

The gas tank would go with the engine. Find the engine number (Briggs & Stratton?, Kohler? ) You can order it online from Briggs & Stratton parts, or like Jack's small engine, or your local mower parts supply. Common poblem with these plastic tanks.

Where is the drain plug to drain and change oil on a standard push mower

It's under the mower on most Briggs & Stratton engines and others. It's about 2 or 3 inches from the shaft. It may be a bit hard to see because of being caked with grass. Use a putty knife to scrape it off.

What most likely happened is the diaphram in the carberator has burst. It is a simple fix if you take your time, use reliable resources and be patient. The parts can be picked up at the local hardware store.

Need a fuel tank for a Troy Bilt mower

You won't find the fuel tank on MTD's site because it is part of the engine. MTD makes the mower, Briggs and Stratton makes the engine. Get the model and type number off the engine and search Briggs and Stratton's site or post it here and I will tell you the part #. Dwain
