Question about Washing Machines
The first thing to figure out is how to open the top. Older GE top loaders had to have a thin putty knife inserted straight back at each front corner to release the top. Others require removal of screws at top back--push back on top and hinge up in front. That allows access to the interior and screws at both sides that release the front panel. Lift up to take the panel out. These are general instructions because you didn't identify the washer make and model.
