The HV diode in the power supply for the magnetron is probably shorted.

Why does the fan keep running on a kenmore spacemaster 300?

Check those 3 micro switches in the door latch assembly. A bad microswitch can blow the main fuse. This usually ruins the microswitch.

SEE THE steps and fix it. and diagrams attached.use the DVOM.God bless you

Line Fuse

Every microwave oven has a line fuse. This fuse is designed to blow if too much current is drawn through the microwave circuitry. The fuse can be replaced, but the underlying issue should still be investigated and resolved. Otherwise the new fuse will blow also.
Main Control Board

If the microwave is not working the main control board may be defective. This is not common. When a microwave stops working the problem is usually the line fuse or within the high voltage circuit; either the high voltage capacitor, diode, transformer or magnetron.

Thermal Fuse

If the microwave is not working the thermal fuse may have blown. It can be tested for continuity. Watch our fuse testing video for more information.
Thermoprotector

If the microwave is not working the thermoprotector may have tripped. This is a safety device to prevent the microwave from overheating. It can be tested for continuity to see if it's blown2_6_2013_8_43_03_pm.gif2_6_2013_8_43_37_pm.jpg

The magnetron is shorted or the inverter board is defective if microwave is 7 years old or less.

My microwave oven stopped working. No lights, clocks etc. I have checked the outlet and it is fine, power available. Is there a fuse somewhere inside the microwave?

There is a main fuse in the microwave oven, "white body with silver ends" located near the high voltage capacitor. Unplug unit take top off and allow 30 seconds to dis-charge. Keep in mind the door switch becomes defective and often blows the fuse.

My model nn-p295wf microwave stopped working ,all power just stopped, about a year ago. I took it to a repair shop and they replaced the DIODE and the fuse, then it worked again. Afew weeks ago it happened...

Replace the magnetron, safety fuse and diode as a set and check the door interlock switches.
That should get it working for another year or so.
Don't forget microwave mains fuses are special sand filled and semisurge type.

Microwave blows fuse in microwave mode grill function ok

It is most likely the capacitor has shorted or the rectifier has shorted. Check with ohmeter, but make sure it is discharged first by shorting the capacitor with a wire.

GE SpacemakerXL Microwave blowing fuse

If its blowing fuses more than likely there is a short somewhere. Make sure you are putting the required size fuse in. Also never put in a higher than recommended amp fuse you could catch the house on fire.Unhook the fan motor and see if the microwave will run. Anything can be fixed but the cost of doing so may be more trying to fix, but really it could be cheaper to buy a new one instead of trying to fix that one. IMO

Fuse keeps blowing.

It appears like the high voltage capacitor is shorted or the diode connected to the capacitor. You might want to check the monitoring switch as well if the capacitor and diode are good.

Fuse keeps blowing.

couple questions -
what else is on the circuit,
and what current does the oven need

there are whirlpool over-range models with
1200watts of microwave,
1500watts of convection power, a
60watt bulb and a
375watt fan

over 15amps -20amp circuit needed

if you inadvertantly replaced a higher current fuse with a 15amp fuse, it will blow every time.
the install guide http://www.whirlpool.com/assets/pdfs/product/ZINSTALL/8206589.pdf reccommends 20amp
not a solution, something to check,
