Question about Alpine iDA-X100 Car CD/ MP3 Player
I am having a similiar problem on a brand new Alpine CD player. When I plug in my MP3 Player (Archose AV400) via usb I get "Device Error". I spoke to Alpin tech support twice about this and they told me; only an ipod brand mp3 player will work, then another person at tech support told me as long as they were saved as mpeg-3 files (mp3) it should work fine.
I'm not a fan of the apple itunes/ipod so i'm hoping there is a work around? If anyone has a suggestion it would be much appreciated.
Sorry to say my friend, but the problem is with the Archose. I recently installed a Soundstream unit for a customer of mine, and he had an Archos aswell. The Archose will go in to slave mode, and act as a removeable mass media storage, but that's as far as it will go. Other mass storage units will work fine, you can even use a regular old usb thumb drive, but not the Archose.
