As stated above, this generally means you need to change the filter. Also if this does not work we have a whole section of our website dedicated to water contamination, causes and solutions located here

Changed supply hose to frig from copper to plastic reinforced. Now getting bad plastic taste. Anything that can be done to get rid of bad taste other than time and flushing with lots of water?

Afraid not, you should go back to the copper if you want to get rid if that. I had put those on my kitchen sink and get the same tastes, unless you run the water for some time, at the fridge you don't have the option of running the water. Good Luck...

Strong sulfur-type smell/bitter taste to water in only 1 faucet

The only thing I can think of that would cause one faucet to do that and not the other is the water line in that small stretch between them is a different metal. ie; galvinized to copper. If not properly adapted with a diaelectri or at least 4" of brass, it will cause electrolosis. Never seen electrolosis in action, so I'm not sure if it causes that smell and taste.

If you don't see a water line issue, then replace your faucet to see if that solves the problem.

If you have any further issues after that , I would suggest calling a plumber. good luck

Ice tastes funny and a strange metallic or plastic type smell

Sometimes the smell comes from something in the freezer or even the refrigeratior and makes the ice taste funny. My suggestion is to clean out the freezer compartment of anything frozen that has been there a while and may have freezer burn. That may be the funny smell you are experiencing.
Hope this will help you.

Bad tasting coffee

Hello. Usually bad taste is one of 3 things, water quality, coffee quality is changed, or brew temp is different. Try removing all the water, by tilting the unit over the sink, unplug please, so the end where the funnel would go is draining the water into the sink, go slowly. Once all the water is removed, refill it with fresh water until it comes out the spray head/funnel area again, plug back in, heat and test. Now there could still be residue in the tank, and it may require doing this a couple of times to clear fully. Try another coffee, may have just had a bad can/bag/etc..
Last, take the temp of the water coming out of the funnel, should be about 180 deg. F, if not it could be too cool, and needs a thermostat or element. If you need a service provider, go to and locate a service near you.

Hope that helps, and thank you.
