My Toshiba Camileo HD-DV Camcorder won't focus

If your Toshiba Camileo HD-DV camcorder is not focusing properly, there are a few potential causes and solutions to try:
  • Check that the lens is clean and free from any smudges or fingerprints. Even a small amount of dirt or debris on the lens can affect the focus. If the lens is dirty, try cleaning it with a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth.
  • Make sure the lens is not blocked by any foreign objects, such as the hood of a camera bag or the edge of a cap.
  • Try adjusting the focus manually using the focus ring on the lens. If the focus ring is not responding or is difficult to turn, the lens may need to be serviced.
  • Make sure your camcorder firmware is up to date. Check Toshiba website to see if there is any update available and instructions on how to update.
  • Make sure the camera is not in macro mode. Some cameras have a separate macro mode that enables the camera to focus on objects that are very close. If you are not trying to take close-up shots, you may need to switch out of this mode.
  • Make sure the scene is well lit. Low light can make it more difficult for the camera to focus, try adding more light to the scene or use the manual focus.
If none of the above steps work, it is possible that the camera's autofocus system may be malfunctioning and will need to be repaired. It's best to contact Toshiba customer service or a local camera repair shop for a diagnosis and estimate for repair if the issue persists

Is it possible to manually control the focus on this camera? (Konica Minolta Maxxum 400si SLR 35mm Film Camera) I need to be able to manually control the focus, apeture, and shutter speed for a film...

The description of the manual focus is available in part 2 of the manual, page 40. The manual is available as a PDF here: http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/film-cameras/film_af_slr/index.html#si_series . It is the seventh camera in the SI series in the list.

To manually focus the lens, press the focus-mode button on the front of the camera (bottom left when you are behind the camera) until M. focus appears in the data panel. If you have an AF lens, turn the focusing ring until the subject appears sharp. If you have an xi-Series or AF Power Zoom lens, pull and turn the lens control ring.

The focus indicator will light when the subject is in focus. To return to autofocus mode, press the focus-mode button again. The camera will also return to the autofocus mode if you press the program reset button.

I hope this helps.

(in manual focus, you can take a picture even if the subject in the focus frame is not in focus. Often it means you need to take multiple pictures to get a good shot of the subject. The advantage is that you can get some interesting shots.)

Olympys fe-270 takes blurry pictures

Try this. Aim the camera at the person/object you want to take a picture of. Press the shutter button "HALF WAY DOWN" wait 2 seconds then complete by pressing all the way down to take the picture. The auto focus works on the "half way down" stroke. Some cameras have a light that goes from red to green to let you know the focus was completed. Or, just wait the 2 or so seconds.

The lens cannot automatically focus

Hi pablo_cornel, One simple question, is the camera in manual focus mode. On the right of the lens mount, as you look at the camera is a switch that reads AF and M. If that switch is set to M you are in manual focus mode. Also, does the 18-55 mm lens have a manual override switch?

What button do you use to turn off the flash on the olympis 710 digital camera?

Change your shooting mode to available light.

Your camera sets flash to auto when you set to auto mode. There are other modes where you can control the flash manually.

Will not operate in the autofocus mode

kmarcum,
Take the camera off auto focus,if the shutter fires and you can manually focus, then the lens must be repaired. Take the lens to a camera repair shop and get an estimate.

Lens won't autofocus

Check that the electrical contacts on the lens and camera body are clean, and that the lens is mounted fully and correctly to the camera, i.e. no damage or dirt in the mounts. If these are all okay, it is looking like an internal problem with the lens's focus motor, or possibly something jammed in the lens.

If possible, try the lens on another camera body. Alternatively, you could switch the camera to a manual focus mode (or a mode that doesn't require focus confirmation) and see if you can take a picture.

This pretty much rules out what you can do for yourself I'm afraid. If you still have no luck, you will probably need to take it to a camera store for inspection / repair.

(Incidentally, the R09 is not actually an error message. It means that you have 9 shot capacity in the camera buffer before it will fill up. It sounds as if the camera is set to an auto-focus mode that requires focus confirmation before the shutter will fire which is why you're seeing the message.)

Help please

Is the lens moving/focusing?
If you switch to manual focus, can you make a shot?

Is it possible that "remote control" mode is selected (the button on top, right, in front of AF button) - in this mode the camera focuses but waits for the remote to shoot - just press the mode button until the LCD shows [S]
