SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite A105

The most common problem on these units is the ac connector solder joints break away from the motherboard. If you're sure the ac adapter is working, and the correct one, and it's not charging the battery (assuming the battery is good), it's most likely the problem. They don't have to appear loose to be loose.
Otherwise, it's motherboard time, or a loose screw, etc has caused a dead short on the board.
Good luck, if you have additional info, let me know.

Power adapter i can us

What does a power adapter do?
An AC adapter, AC/DC adapter, or AC/DC converter is a type of external power supply, often enclosed in a case similar to an AC plug. ... AC adapters are used with electrical devices that require power but do not contain internal components to derive the required voltage and power from mains power.
OR
power adapter. A power supply for electronic devices. Also called an "AC adapter" or "charger," power adapters plug into a wall outlet and convert AC to a single DC voltage. Computers use multiple DC voltages, and the power adapter is the external part of the power supply for a laptop.

How do I use this adapter in the US with 220 voltage

is it an 220volt ac - dc adapter you could buy a 110V AC to DC adapter with the same DC Voltage and current rating
or you could buy a 110V to 220 Volt adapter

be careful with switch settings

please be aware if timing is required or electrical motors this could be a problem as usa is 60Hz and your appliciance may be designed to run at 50 Hz frequency
there are devices that can convert freq from 60hz to 50 hz

How can I operate my LG 26LE5300 LED LCD TV in my motorhome the most direct way possible (i.e....without an inverter)? This low power (40-50 watts) TV has an external brick to convert 120 AC to it's...

1) You need to look at the output current rating (AMP) of this AC to 24dc adapter, this 24vdc adapter is a regulated switching power supply that will maintain 24vdc output up the maximum current rating and also has shutdown circuits if the over current draw is detect and also if the output voltage goes up beyond 24vdc to protect the load (TV).

2) To use 12vdc to 24vdc DC-DC booster, it should have the following spec:

A) The output current rating should be at least 20% higher than the load requires to give its head room.
B) It must have regulated output that will maintain the 24vdc when the input (12vdc) will vary from 10vdc ~16vdc or higher since your batteries will not maintain exact 12vdc all the time.
C) It must have good protection circuits that will protect it self from reverse polarity connections, shorted output protection, over voltage output protection.
D) It should provide AC ripple spec on the 24vdc output, it should be in the milli-volt range (you will always get AC ripple riding on top of DC when you rectify the AC into DC).

These are the minimum requirement for your DC to DC booster, which you need to protect your TV and your motor home from burning down.
I hope I explain it OK to you.

Did you bought your replacement AC Adapter on Ebay. well I bought mine on Ebay as well but you know what they're not the exact replacement. I encountered a problem with mine, because of the reverse polarity on the output power. you can fix this though, cut the output wire leading to your TV then connect the white wire with the un-shielded one and to the same on the other wire.

DTV Conversion Question

Yes you can connect a DTV converter box in your van.
If the TV is DC powered you will need to buy a DC to AC inverter, like these http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/12_volt_power_inverters.html because there are currently no dc dtv converters available.
If the tv is ac powered you will only need to connect the converter to the inverter the tv is connected to.
If you need more help or installation instructions let me know.

Have a Sanyo CLT2054 Have flickering picture looks like a strobe; sound is fine

Sanyo CLT 2054 flickering problem is a power supply issue. You don't need to replace it if you can desolder, and solder. Break the case apart that is connected to the ac power cord. Remove the aluminum cover from the DC out end of the PCB. Unsolder, and replace capacitors C9 & C12 (1000mf 16v). Super glue the case back together, and watch TV. Good Luck...............Don't use cheap capacitors use caps that have a low ESR.

Looking for ac dc adapter for my Sanyo flat panel tv

It periodically goes dead and needs a firm slap in the palm of my hand to get it to come to life again. Unit runs fairly warm so wonder if it is a safety problem.
