Hello, If you cannot log on to Windows by using a particular user account, but you can log on to another account that has administrative credentials, follow these steps on how to do the trick:
1. Log on to Windows by using an administrator account that has a password that you remember. You may need to start Windows in safe mode (Which is pressing F8 at boot up).
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type "control userpasswords2?, and then click OK.
4. Click the user account that you forgot the password for, and then click Reset Password.
5. Type a new password in both the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and then click OK.

Hope this helps!

When the computer is turning on, after the first POST screen, press F8 repeatedly and select Safe Mode from the menu. When Windows loads, select Administrator as the account, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and create a new account. You can also delete the old one. Restart and log in to your new account. If you really need to access the locked account, first log in to the newly created one, Start > Run: CMD, to the command line enter: net user [name of the account] after that the new password (you won`t need the old one), after this you can log off and log in to the previously locked account. Good luck

To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.

click start control panel Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. There are some things you can do. If you didn't get restore cd's with unit, you can order them from Asus. If you got cd's then boot to it and restore the system to factory. If you don't want to order cd's then go to computer store and buy an xp cd and boot to it and wipe hard drive and install xp. If the system has lots of ram then just upgrade to windows 7. you can look online for password recovery but it will cost you money and sending them the info from your system.
