Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player
I am having the same problem with my Cyberhome CH 300 MU dvd, where I have a yellow light and can only get a red light which pressing buttons. No other response from it. I switched it out to another TV system where another dvd player works using it's cables. The Cyberhome still will not respond. Can you help me?
I solved same problem by replacing capacitors on the power supply board.
It is very easy to get his board out -- make sure the unit is unplugged first and sits for about an hour to drain any caps that do have a charge!!
The cost of all the caps on this board is about $3 from Allied Electronics, plus shipping, which would likely be more than $3. Radio Shack might have them.
The obvious offender in my case was the 2200uF 10V cap which was bulging at the top, a sure sign of a failed cap.
If you don't have experience or ability with a soldering iron or have a friend who does, you could try a repair shop, but they would charge $$$ to fix something worth only$ in the first place.
But when this thing works, it's a good unit.
