Difficult to help without knowing the make & model. Try the Troubleshooting section of the owner's manual. Otherwise, try contacting a local dealer or the manufacturer support number.

I can sew a few stitches did it all balls up at

Thread balling up in the bobbin case usually indicates that the TOP thread is mis-threaded (usually at the take up lever). Check with your manual for proper threading path.

Stich selector won't turn

It could need lubrication. Try using WD-40 wait a few minutes then gently try to move the stitch selector back and forth, try not to force it. If it starts to move use a bit more WD-40 and try moving it again. If it works then use a good grade of sewing machine oil and be sure to clean everything up. Dirt is a big factor in sewing machines.

Good luck,

Marty

Janometroubleshooting

If you took the bobbin case out to clean, make sure you put it back correctly. This is very easy to not put back correctly, also make sure the bobbin is wound correctly. Sometimes, I use air spray like for computer cleaning and use it in the bobbin area and threading area. All you need is a little spec of dust to throw it off.

My HV DD gives a "motor overloaded" code after the power went out in the middle of it embroidering

if there is a reboot option it should be in the instruction manual
if it doesn't show there, contact the one you bought the machine
from to see what they suggest.
you said you had the machine plugged into a serge protector
I also suggest a battery back up you can get them at different stores
like wal mart or best buy, that way if the power goes out the battery
back up will kick in and keep the embroidery project going, the
battery back ups have different time amounts on them, we have 2
battery back up, one for our desk top pc and the other for our
daughters pc for her school work and they do come in handy.

Singer esteem ii wont sew after the needle wouldnt go down and got fixed. when it does sew it skips stitches. what do I do?

Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly

if you can send me the model number of the machine,, I'll see if
singer has a free downloadable manual

Make sure you're using the correct foot for the stitch. Is this during sewing or embroidery? Take off the bobbin plate using the screwdriver and remove the bobbin. Make sure everything is clean under and around the shuttle. If you've ever broken a needle the tip might have fallen down into the mechanism and occasionally be jamming it.

Sewing Machine, Upper Thread Jamming in Bobbin

I am having this problem also, and it is jerking up the whole bobbin case. I went to Joann's - the lady there said I have worn out the bobbin case and need to replace it.
