The problem does happen randomly; however, I can tell you that it has happened after printing an online coupon when I try to close the window. It also has happened when viewing PDF files.

sethvel1, I'm curious, in what ways is firefox better than Ie?

  • seth veloso May 11, 2010

Myy only suggestion to you is to use firefox, it is much better than IE. Its hard to say what the problem is. Are you at the same site each time or trying to do the same function such as view video?

Norton is known to cause such issues. Remove Norton, use Avira AntiVir as your antivirus and Windows Firewall as your firewall. Download the latest Internet Explorer here.

Hi,

I would perform a systems restore and take it back to the day before you installed it and it will restore the system to a working state.

If you need me to step you through it please let me know.

Cheers,

you might have a virus run your antivirus then
try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/f which will automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive
then you should replace all leads that are attached to your hard drive including the ones from your motherboard
hope this helps

Download FireFox.. Internet Explorer is having problem or you have virues/spyware killing IE.
Try Firefox or Google Chrome (that's small and fast to try) IE shutting down is not monitor problem.

Error message when closing IE

Try Mozilla Firefox and see if the same thing happens. lol.. IE is a white elephant in general. You might need to go to add/remove programs and uninstall IE from the windows components section and reinstall it possibly, personally though I would not re-install IE after removing it though, lol. As urban dictionary defines Internet Explorer - a perfect program for downloading Mozilla Firefox, lol. Good Luck!
