Screen dead on my zen V plus

My fault i dropped it .. it went very dark for about a week and now the screen is completely dead. but is still works wothout the screen. trouble is i cannot remember the combination of instructions on the pointer to get it to play all of my recordings. does an exact list of instructions exist anywhere? i..e. down down down right right play,

I know that when i loaded new recordings on to it it also started at the same point. (press select for library) so if anyione can give me instructions from there i can load the ramndonm 200 songs on it every week and simply play it that way...

Many thanks

Re: screen dead on my zen V plus

What i did is i switch it on,
click the "Back" button a few times to get you to the main menu.
And then,
click "Up", just once,
it should be "Music".
Then, use the joystick and move it 5 times down.
after that, click your joystick and press "Play"
it should be "All Tracks"

Re: screen dead on my zen V plus

It seems as though the most common problem--and/or the first thing that goes wrong--with the Zen Vision:M is the LCD screen becoming compromised. Many people are familiar with the dreaded lines on the screen, fuzziness, poor contrast, or worst of all--the screen doesn't even come on.

I have a Zen V plus , the screen has become really dark I can barley read it . what should I do?

Bad news. The Zen V Plus is known for screen problems - early warning signs include screen discoloration, lines on the screen or dimming. Eventually, the screen will go black.

Possible reasons include poorly-mounted screens, short life of OLED displays, and susceptibility of screens to damage from moisture.

Best bet for a replacement screen is buying a scrapped Zen V Plus on eBay. Here's a great guide to taking apart your Zen.

Dark screen on zen v plus

Was the device dropped or damanged? The most common problem is a cracked screen. The crack is on the back so you can't see it. The screen will need to be replaced.

My 8gb creative zen player: it was working fine yesterday, cycled home in the rain and i think it got a bit wet, i switched it off, then it switched itself back on with just a grey screen, it now won't...

Mine got wet about a week ago - see my original response.. The screen was just flickering and I could see condensation on the screen. I kept hoping it would dry out, but days went by with no change. Yesterday I finally put it on the dash of my car and let it sit in the sun all day. When I came out of work that evening, the Zen seemed completely dead - and HOT! I let it cool down and plugged it into the charger - still nothing. But this morning -YAY! It is completely functional again!

Zen V Is Totally Dead!

Check Creative's # to see if your are still in warranty

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Creative zen v plus broken OLED

honestly mate, i wouldn't even bother.the same thing happened to me, with the multi coloured strips and all, but with the strips i just pressed the scrrn and they didnt show, a week later the screen when black just like yours, but the music was still playing.
But as you said, aslong as it plays music who cares.
i know this isnt really a suggestion on who to wix it, but if it is still in the warrenty i'd take it back to the store you brought it from and get them to replace it(hopefully all the music you had on it is on you computer)
hope that helped

Zen V is dead
"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
