Question about Sega Saturn Console
Well what can I say... I got my Sega Saturn off of Ebay recently (about maybe two weeks?) and it worked perfectly fine. I got two games which played perfectly... until I got a game called Virtua Cop. When I tried playing the game, the Sega logo and the "Produced by and/or licensed by Sega enterprises" came up but after that, the screen sort of flashed. At first it seemed the console was restarting itself but the "now loading" screen appeared and I disregarded the flash. As the game started, the music began playing and some guy popped up (This was the demonstration screen) and the console immediately stopped reading the disk. I remember trying the game over and over again (each try got alittle further) but the problem persisted. So I stopped. And guess what happened the next day? The console virtually stopped working all together! I'll explain exactly what happens; I put a disk into the console (Thank god it's not Virtua Cop), I push the On/Off button, and, instead of the game automatically loading, it goes to the cd player screen where it says "Checking disk format". So I checked and the disk wasn't spinning at all! Eventually the "Checking disk format" message disappears, only to let me find that I can't do anything else! I tried different games and audio cds, and I even checked to make sure the cd tray closes correctly to make sure the button on the inside on the console pushes in (The button that tells the system if the tray is closed or not) which it does, however it still didn't help the situation. So if anyone has a solution or something that would be great, but I just might end up buying a new one.
Nope nope nope your cd lens is on a position that is unable to read the disc so move it a little further (not with your finger or you will touch the lens) a tooth pick or a plastic piece, leave it in the middle of the rail and you will see the disc spinning, also change your battery on the back left is a small plastic cover inside there is a cr2032 battery just swap for a new one use the same wood tooth pick never use a metal object ok this will solve your problem for sure! that is a common problem with saturns! also when you turn it on leave the disc inside and pass to the control screen then turn off the system and turn it back on twice and will read the disc that is if you don't want to change your battery!

I would recommend looking for a guide on the internet on how to Increase the Laser Lens Voltage by turning the Orange voltage screw clockwise about 35 degrees (it is inside the saturn above the laser assembly) This fixed my similar problem.

Try cleaning the glass laser eye with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. This should fix the problem

Uh... what kind of tv cord are you using? Does it hook up to the cable or is it just the Comp. Video? (Red, white, and yellow plugs) If it hooks up to the cable than the RF unit(a.k.a.-the tv cable) is probably shot; buy a new cable (you can find them on ebay). If it's the other one, it still may be broken, but it's less likely. Just try replacing the TV cable and if that doesn't work, just buy a new system.
