You have a partly clogged fuel line or the vent in the gas cap is clogged.

When it dies loosen the fuel cap and see if it will start. If it starts its because the tiny vent hole in the fuel cap is plugged.

My John Deere 345 dies for no apparent reason

You have dirt in the fuel tank and it sucks the dirt up on the filter that is attached to the pump. After the machine stalls, the dirt falls off and it will restart and run for a few min.

Mower keeps cutting off while trying to mow or ride with blades dis engaged. It will act like it is about to cut off a few times then it finally will. Doesn't matter the throttle position( low or high)....

This might be a stripped wire somewhere, maybe a wire going to a safety switch under the seat or on the cutting deck and it is earthing against the body from time to time.
