No rebooting is simply restarting the computer if you are having problems restarting you can try pressing ctrl+alt+delete, but if all else fails just disconnect the power and battery.

My acer aspire notebook D260 will not start up! it keeps asking me to put cd rom in to reboot. when i press f8 on start up it keeps bleeping and wont let me reboot from there. What can i do now?

It sounds like you might have had a virus that deleted your operating system on the computer. You need a recovery disk that came with your Acer notebook that will allow you to reboot the operating system.

Hope this helps! Please rate my answer :) Thanks!

Need help to reboot computer

Do you have the Recovery disk that came with your computer? If so you want to place the recovery disk in the drive, power down the computer, power it back up, holding the F12 key down so you can boot from your DVD. Go through the recovery process for the Operating System, and this should get you around the virus.

Ended a process and cant login, HELP PLEASE

Hi,

Try to boot your system in safe mode by pressing F8. Try to uninstall anti virus. Press Start>Run>Regedit> Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Delete all values of Norton Antivirus and reboot your system. Hope this will work, otherwise new windows installation will resolve this issue.

How can i reboot ma laptop itz compaq presario v6000 i want to clean all ma stuff hey  i followed what u said to do but when i pressed (f11) it brung me to a baby blue blank screen before i have...

You should start tapping the F11 key right after you turn the laptop on. It should go into the recovery mode, and you can select either a windows recovery (saving your data) or a full destructive recovery. If you feel you have picked up a virus, the destructive recovery is best, as this will put the laptop back to like new, out of the box condition.

Rebooting

To get rid of the virus and set it back "just as you bought it", reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system with your recovery or operating system disc. If you use the built in quick recovery system, the virus will remain, and continue to cause damage to the system.

Reboot into Safe Mode using the F* key procedure.

Go to SYSTEM PROPERTIES / ADVANCED / STARTUP AND RECOVERY / SETTINGS. Uncheck Automatically Restart. (most everyone should do this).

Now uninstall the printer.

Reboot. try again.

Good luck.

Unless your machine took a bad fall down some stairs, I am guessing you have a problem with hardware. Unplug the machine and remove the battery. Unplug any external devices like cards, USB devices and printers, etc., and then reboot. Is the hard drive running? Try F10 into setup, and then select LOAD SAFE DEFAULTS AND REBOOT, or something similar. If this does not get it going, check to see if the harddrive or memory has become unseated in their bays somehow. Turn the laptop over, remove the screws covering the little doors, lovingly and gently unscrew the harddrive retaining screw and remove it, and then put it back in and secure the screws. Check to make sure the memory modules are seated correctly, and reseat them if necessary. Then try rebooting. If you get the same problem, go into the BIOS again and check to make sure you are booting to the HDD as first, and then start turning off devices in the BIOS and rebooting in cycles until it boots. Also, try booting to CD (for example, OS installation disk) and if that works, you likely have a boot problem or hardware problem on the hard drive.

Good luck....
