Question about RCA Televison & Video
If liquid, what did you spill?
There are two screen on a DLP. One is a Fresnel lens that focuses the light from a point source to parallel rays. It has circular ridges that are like short segments of a normal lens, just weighs a lot less. The circles get tighter together as you go to the edge. Then the outer plane has horizontal ridges that concentrate the light in the viewing area on eye level to increase the brightness. They face each other and should be close but not touching. Anything between them is a problem--liquid or not. You may find on AVS Forum for your model a description of disassembly for the screen--it is likely more tedious than difficult. Have a large work area. Do not scratch either lens and put it back the same way. There will be some trick in taking it apart. If the outer screen has been pushed to hard they may have stuck together, hope not or you may be buying the assembly. -Ken
