I get picture on Viber laptop, but no sound. How do I get speakers to work and where can I find the speakers.

Check to see if you a speaker icon in the lower r/h side of the task-bar down by the clock.
If the icon is not there right click on a blank area of the task-bar and left click 'properties'
Left click 'customize'
Scroll down to 'Volume' and select 'Show icon and notifications "
Click 'OK'
Close the 2 properties pop-ups.
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'playback devices'
The 'sound' pop up will appear showing whatever you have connected ( speakers or headset etc)
Make sure the speakers are set as default if you have more than one sound device connected.
The speakers should have a green tick (check ) when they are ready to use
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'Open volume mixer"
Check that the volume slider is above 50% and the speakers are not muted (shown as a red no-entry sign on the speaker icons at the bottom of the sliders' If muted click on the slider speaker icon.
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'playback devices' Put the cursor on the blue graph to the right of the icon, right click and select 'test' All being well the computer speakers will respond.

My volume icon on the task bar has disappeared, how do I get it back

Open the TASK MANAGER, open the PROCESSES tab, highlight "explorer.exe", click on "end process", Open "file", "New Task", Type "explorer" without quotation marks. OR Control Panel, Sound, depending on your OS, You will find a box to show tray icon. If it is checked, uncheck, apply, then check, apply. The Task Manager will remove stored icons that fill the program, and restart the icons.

Volume speaker icon not show

The volume speaker Icon wont show usually because you have no sound drivers installed. To confirm this,
1) Go to your control panel and double click on "Sounds and Audio devices"
2) The window that appears sholu show the device volume slider active - which means the driver works fine and is installed. If this is so, click on "place volume icon in task bar".

If not, you need to install the sound drivers for your device.

Is there a sound/volume lock key that may have been hit by mistake........audio and sound in my computer dont see any fault, but have almost no sound

I can help you with your 'almost no sound' computer problem.

The best thing to do when you are not sure what your pc is doing with its sound is to bring up your audio mixer. Do this by right clicking on the volume control icon by the clock on your task bar and selecting 'Open Volume Control', or go through the Control Panel if your taskbar has no volume icon visible.

When looking at your mixer, set Master Volume and Wave mixer bars to about 75%. Now return to whatever application you are using and check where its volume is set. Generally, everything should be set to 75% and then your external speaker volume should be set to a comfortable level.

I hope that helps.

Hello you can enable this option(showing volume control in task bar). This is how you enable it.You click on Start button and continue to the Control Panel item of the Start menu, then in the Control Panel window find Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices section, click on it.Then click on Sounds and Audio Devices. In the Volume tab (top line of buttons) you will see a check-box"Place volume icon in the task bar" put a tick on it and click Apply. Now you are done and you should see the volume icon:)
