Base coat paint ratio of 8:1/2:4 how would you convert 1/2 activator

PPG basecoat is probably part of a water based wet-on-wet painting system designed so each successive coat can be applied in relatively quick succession and then baked in an oven, followed by the activated lacquer so the whole job can be completed in less than a day.

I had cause to do a minor body repair to a vehicle that had been refinished some months before with the PPG water based paint system - I was surprised to find the base and primer coats were still moist and tacky and the new paint reluctant to adhere to the feathered edge of the PPG paint.

In conclusion I would guess you can apply epoxy primer as in reality it is little different from the epoxy lacquer in the above example...

Tech notes
On some Honda vehicles the P0740 code may be set by an overheating torque converter problem which is caused by an insufficient flow to the torque converter release circuit.

P0740 Honda Description
The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in D4, by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and the Engine Control Module (ECM). Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled. When the torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, the torque converter lockup clutch will engage creating a 1 to 1 RPM ratio between the transmission input shaft and the rotational speed of the torque converter.
Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when A/T fluid temperature is too low.
When the accelerator pedal is depressed (less than 2/8) in lock-up condition, the engine speed should not change abruptly. If there is a big jump in engine speed, there is no lock-up.

It depends on the number of coats you want to put on but normally less than 1 pint. Remember that you mix it with thinners in a ratio of around 1/4 paint to 3/4 thinners.. Talk to a paint shop or an auto refinisher for best advice.

Use a paint stripper to remove old paint. Use a phosphoric acid base rust converter to remove rust .Clean and dry Use pressure pack under coat and finish coat spraying on lightly with several coats.

the basic shell of the car is cathodic dipped,then painted with a filler/primer before water based paint is applied,the final coat is dried by radio waves(really)any excess is recycled back to the paint plant ready for the next car.NO solvents are used in the whole process.YOU CANNOT BUY THIS PAINT.it is very similar to normal emulsion paint,although it will not dry in the air,it has to be heat dried/sealed.(in an oven)(check out you tube bmw z3)

this size car takes 1/2 gallon or less in a single stage in others like pearls or candies takes the same amount but after the base color takes the candy or pearl and of course both choices take clear coat

your correct, if you wait about a year you will notice rust in those spots

sand it down with some fin grit sand paper, apply a slight coat of rustolium, masking off the area with masking tape, so you dont create a larger area. Then ge touch up paint from your local dealer, some thinner and a refilable pray can, thin the touch up paint with the thinner in a 2 part paint to one part thinner ratio and spay a few coats on, should work.

You need flexible primer and paint, base-coat and clear coat. The kind that body shops apply apply to bumpers. Go to your paint store and tell them you are doing plastic. They will sell you what you need. If you use regular paint, it will crack. You really should use the flexible paints.
