If you are talking about the CD bay take a paperclip and bend it straight; take the paperclip and poke it into the hole you find on the drive - if you push that button in it will force the tray open. If the tray doesn't open with power I would go ahead and open the case and make sure that it has power. You may need a new drive - i'm just fixing your immediate problem of getting the thing open (in case you have a cd you need out of it)

I tried the paperclip. I tried unscrewing the unit to remove it. I tried opening it from properties. The paperclip did nothing. I unscrewed the two screws on each side of the unit. It was too big to slide out the front and the power supply would have had to be removed to slide it out the back. So here's what I did. I got out my 1/4 inch power drill and fit it with a 5/64" bit. Then I made a shallow hole dead center of the tray. Next I screwed a sheet rock screw into the guide hole I had drilled in the tray and tightened it just enough to get a firm bite. Now I had some leverage where I could apply a little force to tugging on the tray. However it wouldn't budge. Next I tried tugging on the screw while I pressed the open button and it slid open like nothing had ever happened and now it works like new. Next time I have a problem with that machine, I'll take a radial saw to it.

The TS-H652L drawer opens and will not close. Need a driver perhaps??

Drivers should not impact the drive not closing. This issue is a hardware issue. Good thing is you can order a new dvd+dl burner sata or ide off of for under $35

My hp a1540n will flash the blue light once but will not do ANYTHING else.

Do you still have original cds that came with your computer? The bluescreen is an indication of a serious issue with your computer that may require reisntalling everything on the computer from the original cds that came with it.

We just got an HP Pavilion A1540N from my cousin, we are trying to boot it up and it beeps and the monitor turns on but goes right to sleep.

Will need the beep sequence the amount of beeps. The beeps lets ya know that there was something wrong in POST. Most likely cause would be the video card but need the beep sequence to be certain.

Yes you put in the video card and the default is lowest resolution and is usable without a driver, install driver then reboot and you have your new video card to set up the way you want.

Hp pavilion a1540n does not boot, fan turns on high, and beeps once every +/-5 seconds

Sounds like a memory fault, try removing 1 memory at a time, and restart. might help, try each memory by its self to indentify the bad card.
