Adi microscan monitor 17 green screen

I found and ADI Microscan MicroTron flat tube monitor which measures 17" diagonal. When I first hooked it up to my NVidia 5400 card, the screen was totally green. Upon turning the contrast knob up, I found I gained picture (duh on me), but it still retains a distinct greenish cast. This is especially noticable on the Windows stars screensaver, where the stars appear pretty much white, but shooting through what looks like ocean, not space. I've been into the color settings in the monitor's menu several times trying to balance it out, conducted multiple prolonged searches, all to no avail. I really like the size and flatness of this monitor, but the green (my least favorite color no less!) is driving me nuts! I'd appreciate any help. Thanx.

This is a loose cable from the monitor vga. please make sure the cable is secure from THE monitor side

It is a connection somewhere. It can be the cable, monitor, or video card. If you another input on the monitor i.e. DVI try that with a different cable. If there is another output on video card try that. Mix them to test. trial and error.

Odds are there are some smashed pins.

Sounds like the resolution got adjusted. To fix this, right click on any empty space on your desktop, select properties, Then select the tab that says settings. There is a slider bar to adjust your resolution. The further you slide it to the right, the higher the resolution. With a higher resolution, everything will seem smaller and more defined.

If you're unable to adjust this to your liking or only have 1 setting, you may have to get a new driver for your video card.

Desktop too large for monitor

This has to do with the resolution settings on your display, or someone has changed the default dpi, or the bios has been adjusted.
What OS are you using? xp? vista?
What make & model # of computer?
Right click the desktop, choose properties> then settings>make sure the screen resolution is set correctly, then choose advanced and make sure the dpi is set to normal. Reboot.
If that doesn't work, check for another graphics tab in the advanced settings for your display, like Intel graphics or something, and check the screen resolution set there and adjust it if necessary.
Otherwise, check the osd for your monitor and see if it's set to factory specs.
But I'm guessing the techs that did the work on your power supply had a different sized monitor hooked up and made an adjustment they forget to reset.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

ADI A905, No Display, but appears to get signal

I have the same problems as you. I found the only fix is to physically unplug the monitor from the wall outlet, and then it plug back in. Sounds like an internal design flaw.
