Greetings,

Picasa is a wonderful tool! It can be a little confusing though so I will try to walk you through it step by step. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Depending on how you uploaded your pictures, you may already have them organized on your computer using the Picasa software... for now, let's assume you do not and will have to redownload the images!
*If you already know where the images are on your hard drive, you can skip the first 5 steps!

  1. Go to http://picasaweb.google.com/
  2. Sign in with your google password
  3. Click on the photo you want to download
  4. Click on the DOWNLOAD menu just above the picture and DOWNLOAD PHOTO
  5. Repeat until you have downloaded all of the images!

Okay... so above are the steps to get your images IF you only have them online. Below are the steps if you know where the images already are!
  6. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to insert a memory card into your card reader on your computer... or if you don't have a card reader, plug in the frame to your computer using the supplied USB
By the way, I found this manual but not sure it is your model:
    http://www.smartpartsproducts.com/content/support/usermanuals/manuals/SPDPF84%20User%20Manual.pdf
  7. Doubleclick on your MY COMPUTER icon on your desktop then navigate to where your pictures are stored (where did you have them or where did you download them to?) - they could be on your desktop in a folder even!
  8. Open the folder that contains all the pictures and press CRTL and A simultaneously on your keyboard - this will select all the pictures in the folder.
  9. Press CTRL and C simultaneously to COPY the images (nothing will appear to happen yet!)
  10. Now doubleclick the MY COMPUTER icon on your computer to show you all of your drives
  11. Doubleclick on the drive letter that represents your card - many times it is E, F, G... it should have the name of the frame next to it or the name of the card (i.e Sandisk 2gb card E:)
  12. RIGHT CLICK with your mouse anywhere in the open space for the drive you just opened and click on the PASTE options
  13. You will now see the images copying over! (Almost done WHEW)
  14. If you plugged the frame into the computer - enjoy the images! If you used a card, simply move the card to the picture frame to see the images!
Good luck! I know it seems like a lot of steps but I tried to break it down in a very understandable way, please let me know if you run into problems or need more clarification!

I understand.. let's take it a couple of steps at a time. First, answer a couple of questions so I know what you might be seeing:

    1. Which picture frame are you using? (model #)
    2. Which version of windows?
    3. Do you have the pictures on your computer hard drive or are they just online with picasa?
    4. When you connect the picture frame to the usb of your computer, does anything happen?

rather than dealing with the viewer I suspect you just need to point picassa to the folder locations of the photos.

Delete pictures from smartparts ps-74

Do not connect to the computer. Turn the frame on. Use the remote and I can't remember how I did it, maybe SETUP, but it gave me a drop down to delete all photos and I hit enter and it did it. Hope this helps a bit.

I have a smartparts picture frame.SP113mw Just loaded new pictures and first pic comes up and freezes, tried re-connecting to computer nothing. Can't use any of the buttons its locked up and can't...

The first (most obvious?) solution is to discard/destroy/disable/discombobulate the SP113MW. For my Mother-in-Law, I just deleted some of her images from built-in flash.

The SP113MW has a 128 mB flash drive that is accessible by USB, per previous suggestions. HOWEVER, the probable reason that your frame freezes on startup is that you have more than 744 images in the "Smartparts Pictures" folder on the built-in flash memory.

The SP113MW has a maximum limit of 744 images for a slideshow rotation, regardless of how much space is on the drive (that includes Built-in flash, USB, SD, or any of the drives). The default drive on startup is the built-in flash, so you may just have to delete some images to get under the 744 limit. FORGET the manufacturer's claim of "2000 images" (because it is technically correct); you can store 2000, but you'll never play a slideshow of 2000 (nor any slideshow if you have that many images). Reduce to 744 (all jpg's) and all will be well.

The other irritating thing about the SP113MW is that it does not allow the slideshow to include all drives: just one drive at a time, and that drive cannot have more than 744 images on it (or the slideshow freezes). That is why your comment about "trash" may not be a bad idea. However, mine Mother-in-Law's still works, so I accepted the limit, and it still sits on her shelf.

My smart parts frame has no power - any suggestions?

Use a "multi-meter" to measure the voltage and amperage output from the power-adapter.
If the values don't match the specifications on the adapter, replace the adapter.

Find a compatible power-adapter (maybe by going back to the store where you bought the SmartParts, taking your frame with you) and trying powering your SmartParts from that adapter.
If it still does not work, then exercise the WARRANTY on the device to get it repaired/replaced.

Where can I get a replacement switching adapter for my SmartParts digital frame? I am assuming that is the problem as it won't come on and was just working a very short time ago? I live in southern...

It's probably the power adaptor. Bring the frame to RadioShack and they will try on an adaptor for you. If it works, buy the adaptor. If it doesn't, you'll have to go to your local, non-retail chain, electronics store to get it fixed...

Cannot load pictures onto SmartParts Digital frame

You can't see pictures on the frame while it's connected to the computer. The frame is supposed to say, "PC Connection established..." If you go to My computer and look for your frame as a removable device, you can open it and view the internal memory of the frame. You can see all the pictures on the frame and delete them if you wish.

Can't transfer music (audio) to the Frame

Make sure the music is in the correct file format for the frame. Some frames take MP3, others take WMA. If the format that you have is not compatible, you must convert it or the frame will not read it.
