Question about Car Audio & Video

2 Answers

This vehicle is a '02 Dodge Dakota. My front left turn bulbs and left turn indicator stay on when my ignition is on. The left turn signal doesn't work right. When I turn on the hazard flashers (key off) my radio and fuel pump flash with the lights. All bulb elements burn when they should so I'm pretty sure it cant be a bulb. I'm thinking bad ground but I'm not having any luck finding the problem.

That gives me ideas on where to test, I'd still like to hear from someone who may have had the same issue.

I would check the third brake light assembly wiring as it is connected to these circuits and are notorious for acting up.

This is a bad contact , probably caused by a damaged wiring harness making contact or shorting out.

If turn signal is on a stick, take apart stick and check in there , that is a common place where you ger this kind of problems.

Try also following wiring from hazard flasher and turn signal indicators.

Try also removing all possible fuses and see what problems you get, putting back fuses one by one and testing the contacts on fusebox will help to understand if the contact is before or after the fuse box.

Alpha Romeo 156 My Left hand indicator light stays on continually, does not flash. and when I turn the hazard light switch on both indicators continually glow.

Generally speaking, symptoms of a bad or failing turn signal bulb are usually the culprit...in your case, either it's the front left or rear bulb. Varies for different vehicle makes...common signs include:
  1. turn signal light staying on solid
  2. or blinking very fast
  3. or either sides of the bulbs stop blinking altogether.
To test this, make sure you reconnect everything you disconnected.
Turn the left signal light on; go to the front of the vehicle, is the turn signal bulb illuminated? If it lights up, even though it is not blinking obviously the bulb is okay. If it doesn't, replace it- problem solved. You'll do the same procedure for the rear turn signal Is that lit up? If not replace the bulb and the problem is solved.
Another common failure is when the turn signal blinks really fast, same procedure as mentioned above.
If both bulbs for the left side and right side illuminate but don't blink, the problem is in the steering column turn signal switch.
If the left or right side blinkers don't work properly at all...then check the integrated hazard warning/turn signal flasher relay- that may be defective; again, that's usually the case if both sides of the signal light don't work.
If you are blowing any fuses related to the flasher system, you have an electrical overload in the turn signal circuitry.

02 Buick LeSabre Ltd. Rear flashers work (blinking rapidly), front bulbs stay on, inside indicators also flash rapidly. Replaced control module under the dash. Did not help. What else could it be?

Hi there., when flashers/indicators work rapidly on the dashboard you should check whether it is the same on the actual bulds. Fadt flashing is usually a sign of a bulb failure somewhere. If everything is functioning ok externally I would consult a competent technician for a diagnosis.

Why do both front & back left turn signal lights flash like there is a bulb out. have changed bulbs.

usually happens when incorrect bulbs are used.
And can indicate that the flasher itself is going bad.

And can indicate a wire is worn through insulation and is touching metal. or ground wire of light fixture is loose.

1995 Dodge Dakota signal light and brake lights quit

I had the same problem that the brake light / turn signal on the right side didn't work (in the 2006 Dodge Caravan it's the same bulb). After a long search I found the problem: There was corrosion on the contact of the bulb assembly. After scraping off the corrosion everything works now.

The dash lights are not working and the left rear

check the main fuse box under the hood, also check that the left front turn signal to see if the bulb is blown, sometimes when only one bulb is working it can cause it to flash much quicker, also check all the wiring there could be a short circuit somewhere ,this can also cause this problem.....hope this helps.....cheers

My left indicator does not blink, it stays solid

I would start by checking the blinker light bulb on the left side front and or rear, some vehicles will blink real fast and some wont blink at all when a bulb goes bad.
